You're struggling with the meaning of the song.
Don't worry, you aren't on your sandal wearing own there.
It's like the 'Long Live The Venkys' bit, isn't in the chant at all.

Six pages now of the same banal bullshit that we get every time we play them.
It's a football chant, that's all. I sang it at Fleawood alongside everyone I went with and what seemed like the entire stand. All this self righteous indignation and mockrage is laughable.
It's just banter, nothing more nothing less. I work in Accy and not a single Blackburn fan who I spoke to on Thursday mentioned the chant, not one. So quit being enraged about other people's sensitivity. They sing songs to rile us, we do the same, it's the oldest Derby in England and the banter and insults have been going on for over 130 years.

Braindead, yup sums it up nicely. liverpool fans singing about the munich disaster and United fans singing about Heysel are fine by your standards then?. Yes, let's move on, taking the p!ss out of Venkys is fine but harping on about a deceased football supporter who put his wallet where his mouth is pathetic. Jack Walker was just a more affluent Barry Kilby. This thread should be deleted.

Would you chant about Adolf Hitler?
Apparently West Ham do frequently
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... crowd.html which is bizarre considering the damage the East End suffered during the blitz.

many of the people chanting may well have lost ancestors during the war.

Another otherwise overly-sensitive muesli-knitting cockold liberal snowflake, here. The chant is fine. It's bellends chanting "he's dead, he's dead, he's dead he's dead he's dead" at the end that turns it into something unsavoury.

I accept some people will sing it. It doesn't offend me or upset me. I would never sing it because I think it's distasteful. No outrage, no drama. What's so hard to understand

I'm quite alright being called a snowflake.
It's crystallising water off a ducks back.

Why do people get called liberal or left wing like it's an insult?
I'm liberal and I don't mind the song so don't blame the liberals
