Can't believe Spaniards in the crowd are almost in tears after a late equaliser in the first group game.

Runners up - FRANCE - I don't know if it's even possible for Portugal v France in the final but I fancy a repeat of the Euros with a Ronaldo late winner instead of Eder.

Biggest shock - Brazil fail to reach the last 8

Where England will finish - 1/4 final

Englands best player - Walker

Golden boot winner - Cristiano Ronaldo

Golden ball / best player winner - Cristiano Ronaldo or Goncalo Guedes

Best goalkeeper - Rui Patricio

Excellent game of football. We won't see many better than that one. The first-half was played at breakneck pace. Portugal's legs had gone around 75 minutes and the Spanish passing looked like settling it. But cometh the hour.

Spain seem to have made the transition from their Golden Era with the mix of the old and the new above all Isco but Koke gets through a lot of work.

Two very good football teams provided a great advert for the game.

Karius will sleep better tonight. :)

you know when you sometimes wonder if you'll actually see a TRULY great game in a tournament, you just hope there'll maybe be a few decent matches along the way ? well that was a game to make it all worthwhile, all the hype counts for nothing pre competition, but when two teams as talented as that produce that kind of special football, it makes everything seem wonderful. They may well fail to reproduce that form when they need it most, but tonight was one to remember.

Hi kaptin1,

"Portugal have 10 average players and 1 who is just on another planet to everyone else!"

I beg to disagree about ten average players.

Do you think the new Spanish manager/coach knows all the players' names? Think someone said Spain had had a chaotic week!

Agree, an excellent, beautiful game.

I just think if the england player have designs on competing with the best, that game was a wake up call. As I say, I really hope they saw it and werent playing table tennis, video games or pratting about online.

I suppose it is a concern our free kick taker is kieran trippier. Would have thought an attacker would be a better option? Someone suited to hitting the target.
