Watford v Burnley
Re: Watford v Burnley
Not dyche at all, the man was a miracle worker to achive what he did with the tools at hand.
Poor, penny pinching recruitment in one of the best and richest leagues in the world are showing this season more than most.

Re: Watford v Burnley
They haven't won at home for 10 games, no surprise we make them look like world beaters.

Re: Watford v Burnley
10 straight losses and haven’t kept a clean sheet at home all season. Yet Foster hasn’t had a save to make!!! Criminal.
Re: Watford v Burnley
As poor as we've been, the two replays I've seen from the penalty incident suggest it should have been one, or shouldn't have been ruled out anyway. One showed McNeil's leg in the box when the foul was made and one showed it virtually on the line with players in the way obscuring the shot. I thought VAR was for clear and obvious errors, also not happy with the ref not checking the screen. Still, we need to be better second half.

They really don't as it was clearly outside the boxSydneyClaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 3:51 pmCan’t stand to watch this. Burnley totally off today. Watford players falling all over the place and ‘winning’ free kicks. And VAR…top 6 get the penalty every single time.

Re: Watford v Burnley
This.
Although Lennon put the best chance of the half on a plate. Cork putting in a "bad Jack" performance and both full backs struggling too. Vydra is lively but, well, Vydra. And Weghorst is appalling.
Just shows that our confidence is so fragile. Watford came out hard and we totally crumbled. That's not down to Jackson and nor was it down to Dyche previously. It's completely down to the players on the pitch. Go behind first and we struggle.

Re: Watford v Burnley
Need a serious discussion at half time. Too casual too easy muscled off the ball, fight lacking. That midfield is far to light.

Re: Watford v Burnley
Mentality was wrong from the first second, they freeze when the pressures on. The last few games they were already seen as relegated by us and the media after the Norwich game, maybe felt the pressure was off.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 3:54 pmThis.

The bottom 10 have won 30 out of 165 away games. 1 in 5.5
Away games not easy in this league. Agree we aren’t doing ourselves many favours, but sides don’t come and dominate away.

Norwich won 3-0 at Watford just to put that shambles of a first half in to perspective.

To be fair we got hit with a Tornado first 20 minutes, Watford were very very good.
Re: Watford v Burnley
And Leeds. Honestly the difference between Leeds’ performance here a few weeks back and ours just now is crazy.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 3:56 pmNorwich won 3-0 at Watford just to put that shambles of a first half in to perspective.
We have 45 mins to put it right. But something needs to change.

Well from the sound of it, the people who wanted Dyche out and got their way are realising that he did in fact polish the crumbling turd!! We have and always have had championship players because previous and past chairman have not backed him. So now they move on to other scapegoats. Unfortunately this board which used to have great chats, has been taken over by players of championship manager, who just blast players giving all their effort for Burnley Football club. I’ll not be bothering with this thread anymore. I’ll go and listen to some proper fans of Burnley on YouTube.

I just have no faith in this group of players to come out with the attitude and balls required to turn this around. We’ve seen this far too many times.

Don’t see how Lennon’s been any worse than anybody else? They’ve all been absolutely shocking. Weghorst looking like a carthorse, McNeil back to his old self, Cork and Brownhill completely overrun, back four being torn to shreds. Honestly looks like they were all out on the **** last night. Pathetic half of football.

Re: Watford v Burnley
Our best chance of picking up maximum points on our 5 game run in and it's slipping away. From a game we really, really needed to win, it's turned into a "don't lose" which tbh isn't good enough.
Re: Watford v Burnley
Seems the story of our season. Aways do the unexpected (of everyone else). It seems we don't have the bottle of previous seasons.

Re: Watford v Burnley
Agree. Vydra and Weghorth too far apart, we desperately need to beef up that midfield, Lennon and McNeil offer nothing in defence and we need a solid centre. Ash would offer more stick up front, Ash and Weg up top Vyds out wide for me, I think.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 3:54 pmThis.

45 minutes to give ourselves a huge advantage in the relegation fight. We have to show more quality.

Watford 10 straight home defeates, not kept a clean sheet this year. Emmm, I wonder what the result will be.
