Yep lucky to be in front but will take it .

Need to be more positive going forward in the 2nd half as we look iffy at the back

Vitinho to left back, Maatsen off at H/T for either Gudmundsson, Benson or Churlinov (for me).

On a couple of occasions Vitinho had to track back and cover or tackle because Roberts was missing. You're regularly critical of Vitinho but I don't see what he's done so wrong today beyond be reserved because Roberts hasn't turned up. He failed to show for a ball and the offside header was a simple one but he's put a decent ball in and both fullbacks have been far more absent than him.
Gotta agree with that - he can’t go forward for covering backward

Thought similar. He has done some decent defensive work, hasn't always got back quick enough, but he is playing winger and they have countered quickly at times. I would prefer Roberts off and Vitinho take that spot and Churlinov or JBG go RW.

From our first few games our defence has actually improved, granted it’s nothing like Tarks and Mee but as a work in progress it’s getting there.

Anyone remember the game at the Hawthornes back in 2000( I think) where Branch stole a point for us? The ex-Baggies keeper had a blinder for us and we had one chance which was taken? We were pounded for 90 mins but only conceded to Jason Roberts. I have similar feelings at the moment.

I was a little surprised that there weren’t one or two more changes after VK’s comments about fresh legs. There have been a few under par performances so far tonight.

A good half time team talk and hopefully we up our levels for the second. Come on Burnley!!

Spot on. If Maatsen could defend like Vitinho I'd be very happy, but he can't. Roberts coming off could be a blessing.

Cork has been a bit sloppy at times.
Yes very sloppy, and when he's sloppy Burnley are sloppy.

Loved his darting run deep in their half though. He'll come good in this match.

Agree with you and Spiked, usually loose play from Cork but he's had one moment showing his ability. He's so important to our team, possibly even more than Cullen who fills the same role.

That was so unnecessary from a wasted free kick resulting in a booking

THB booking all day long, result of his error giving the ball away.

On replay, that might be red by VAR in prem.

Vitinho too slow to decide how to play that there. Maatsen probably should have had a shot after rather than play the pass.

The standard of professional officiating is absolutely appalling.
