It's weird how much folk go on about France.

If we get those chances we'll be in front.

Exactly. Crying like that is very look at me I scored two and now I’m heartbroken. Sulking at Vicarage Road showed the true colours. We will never see him in claret and blue at the turf unless VK wants him of course but I doubt he wants a bad apple in the camp.

He wasn't even getting a game at City last time I looked. Although to be fair the last time I looked was earlier this year.

I liked him when he first come about (in fact he was brilliant) but I think he hasn't progressed as much as he should have done.

If I remember rightly Weghorst was one of the last off the pitch with tears in his eyes after we were relegated.

He’s just a guy with a big ego who is keen but can act a bit knobby when things aren’t going his way, that was his rep in Germany too. Mentally he probably doesn't suit an underdog long term, too many disappointments for him. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t care, and I applaud him for what he did tonight.

Van Gaal was stupid not telling them to keep going for it, it just invited Argentina back into the game and gave them the mental edge for the penalties.

Incredible you can have a game with so many bookings where there isn’t one for the most blatant of handballs by Messi. Truly great player and performance tonight for a good chunk of the game but you can’t have blatant cheating by refs like that. Anyone else is booked for the handball.

It’s not a great leap to recognise that Wout has a greater emotional connection to his national team than Burnley FC. Hardly a surprise to be devastated to lose on pens in a WC. No idea where the ‘bad apple’ stuff comes from, other than Connor Roberts mouthing off, who’s hardly a straightforward personality himself.
