Luton remind me of Wimbledon of the seventies/eighties. They are fearless and will put their head to anything. That bobbing ball in the six yard box was going to get a Luton head on it for their first goal. They absolutely give it everything and you have to take your hat off to their fighting spirit. In Rob Edwards they have the perfect coach for them, obviously a huge motivator-surely destined for better things. Not quite sure how long they can keep it up, but I fear their success will lead to our downfall in the PL, because they were one team I would have betted on finishing above last August
Before a ball was kicked Luton were priced up at just 6/4 to finish Bottom of the PL with Burnley on offer at 11/1. Prices taken from William Hill.
We all know now which seems more likely. Every other club in the PL thought they would finish the season ahead of Luton, not just those supporting Burnley.

Burnley were 11/1 at the start of the season?

Surely not.

Before the start of each football season the Racing Post publishes a supplement “The Big Kick Off” containing previews of all 4 divisions and prices on all of the respective betting markets etc. I always retain my copy until the seasons end. The William Hill price for Burnley to be relegated was 5/2 (Luton 3/10), but to actually finish Bottom of the PL it was 11/1.

I notice Scott Twine's injury must be longer than expected as he has played one game when he scored against Watford on Jan 20th and has not even made the subs bench since. Looks Like Bristol City have big problems as only has 7 subs yesterday. His fitness with us was not good either. Feel for the lad. Maybe another one where we will make a loss.

Luton are doing better than us because they used the transfer window to sign players who would improve their team. We signed players to trade for profit.
Did Berge, Koleosho, o'Shea, Foster, Odobert, Assignon, Esteve not improve our team or at the very least our squad?

I think you’re missing my point. Obviously some of our signings have improved the squad, but we signed too many players in some areas of the pitch whilst leaving more urgent positions unaddressed. We signed too many young players with potential and beglected to supplement it with enough experience and character.

In summary, we spent a whole load of money, like a seriously huge amount, and were nowhere near competing. Luton on the other hand went up with a much weaker squad, have spent a lot less money and are.
