Whatever team SP puts out should still be more than a match for PNE.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:25 pmFirst ever FA Cup meeting in 150 years?
Going back to my previous post I’ve reflected on it and thought that if Parker plays a weakened side and loses to a local rival in our first ever cup meeting, many fans will call for him to go. If we somehow fail to go up anyway, many won’t forgive him.
So I really, really hope he is clever here and does the right thing. Feels important.

Cracking draw , shame its likely to be one of those god awful early ko’s , where , even with the greatest will in the world , it’s a real struggle for atmosphere.
Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Liverpool are expecting to play 38 league games, 6 in the League Cup, and 15 in Europe, so they rest their players in the FA Cup. We expect to play 46 league games and nothing else. They don't need a rest.summitclaret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 7:36 pmYour thinking with your heart. We just have to get up this year, to better secure the future of a leveraged buy out Club. I am pretty confident that we can get to round 6 without 4 or 5 of our first 11 starting.

How many years have we been in the hat with PNE and never drawn them in the FA Cup
That has to be another record, more so if we add up all the rounds we could have met but didn’t
Over to you Tony!!!

Or you could do the donkey work and check every FA Cup season on Wikipedia.

I'm just sick of all the away draws we've had.
Ticket prices will be about the same as if we were at home, plus 15 quid on train or a tenner in petrol ( if you're from Burnley area ) plus a few drinks

And for those travelling by train, from the north, south and west it should be a shorter, cheaper and quicker journey. No need to change at Preston.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
A great draw for both clubs.
When the 3rd round draw was made had we been offered North End away for a place in the quarter finals everybody would have taken it. Had North End been offered this game they too would have taken it.
A good allocation, tickets likely to be £30 at the most, easy to get to, plenty of pubs and a good chance to progress. Let's just hope the idiots who decide the kick off times don't spoil it.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
I just read that all 8 ties in the 5th round are televised.
Is that true? Because I was hoping for Saturday 3pm.

Fairly sure they all are yeah, I expect us to be the 12.30 kick off Saturday or SundayQuickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 8:54 amI just read that all 8 ties in the 5th round are televised.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Look at this round, started Friday night with utd, and is still going tonight with Exeter. I expect the games to be Friday night, Saturday lunch, Saturday tea, Saturday night, Sunday lunch, Sunday afternoon, Sunday tea. Monday night.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 8:54 amI just read that all 8 ties in the 5th round are televised.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Think they've actually shown 9 this round if you count the iPlayer games. So pretty much zero chance of Saturday 3pm unfortunately.
Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
We all hope for Saturday 3pm kick offs but unfortunately for us fans it has now become a rarity.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 8:54 amI just read that all 8 ties in the 5th round are televised.

I think, similar to this coming weekend, 12.30pm Saturday is the best we can hope for, but we shall see in the next 2 or 3 days.

There are Premier League games that week so non of the premier leagues teams are likely to play on the Friday so I think we have a high chance of being Friday night.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
Looking at the 5th round draw, if and I mean, IF we get through, my preferred draw is home to the winner of either of the Manchester ties, so United, City, Fulham or Plymouth. Next best would be home to the winners of Millwall/Palace.
Don't want any of the others until we get to Wembley.

I think we can discount that one.Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 11:06 amNext best would be home to the winners of Millwall/Palace.

Thanks for the support Dazzler.
Including the two occasions this season when we hadnt been drawn against PNE I think we have been in the draw bag on 180 occasions with PNE but until yesterday never drawn together.
Going back to bed now and when I get up it will be (before anyone suggests it) to get a life!!!!!
Re: FA Cup 5th Round Draw Thread
