Barrow isn't the end of the world, but you can see it from there.

Re: ARTICLE: BT to screen cup tie
I have been reading that forum since the draw was made. General feeling was they were underwhelmed but many realised we were one of the few "genuine" prem teams left with real fans. However, since they have got the jist that they won't get their 7000 tickets they have started getting ever so slightly more a*sey. Culminating in one of them posting that if we were where they were we wouldnt get as many as they do on games and if they were where we were they would get more. I replied in a diplomatic manner..waiting to see where it goes.
When you think of sleeping giants I always think of Lincoln..hmmmmm

Little diversion here.
Wonder if they'll have segregation?

Re: ARTICLE: BT to screen cup tie
How many Season Ticket holders are there in the Cricket Field?
I can't believe that we are going to try and cram them in.

Or not.ClaretTony wrote:Was very much the case when people moved in last season because there was always the possibility they would have to come out for the Blackburn and Leeds games.
Simple fact is, Lincoln have requested the maximum ticket allocation and that will mean them getting the entire stand.

So all the surety of the full stand being allocated have proven to be nonsense.

Re: ARTICLE: BT to screen cup tie
One things for certain someone at the club has made it clear they want Burnley fans in that stand all the time.
Wonder who that could be.

In a way it's good that they are looking out for our lot and still want us in there, but I think it's crackers just for a few hundred.

Re: ARTICLE: BT to screen cup tie
I really don't think it is a case of us making sure we have fans in there. More of a case if we gave them all of it there would be significant security/access issues. I said it all along. Does the no mans land in there move then? Or is the current away end big enough to take them all? Will some of them be sat our side of no mans land? Bit puzzled how that will work.

What are you talking about?Somethingfishy wrote: More of a case if we gave them all of it there would be significant security/access issues.
It's been the away stand up until recently for about 20 years.

Two years ago, away supporters got the full CFS,
Why will the security situation be any different now? Isn't there a sliding partition where the home and away sections meet?

If you hadn't noticed it has a big metal partition in the concourse and 2 sets of turnstiles. With totally different access. As has been mentioned numerous times on here. Looks like the club have allowed the no mans land to be moved over slightly somehow but we will keep the steps into the stand which has access to our side of the concourse. I don't see how some people can't grasp that the police will not want Lincoln fans splitting into 2 separate directions to enter the ground. They will want them in their coach contained bubble as usual and entering through the usual set of turnstiles.

Realistically, leaving ourselves 16,500 tickets is plenty. We can do this with class, be good hosts and enhance our reputation. Or we can be awkward, miserly bastards.
Let's be awkward, miserly bastards, I say - we want to win this. Don't give the opponents any encouragement no matter who they are. It would be condescending to give "poor little Lincoln" a bit more support. Nice of good old Burnley but not very professional - especially if they turn us over.
Give them a generous cut of the profits, but don't give them an inch on or off the pitch.

Is the concourse totally blocked off?Somethingfishy wrote:If you hadn't noticed it has a big metal partition in the concourse and 2 sets of turnstiles. With totally different access. The important thing is we haven't set a bad precedent for a potentially bigger opponent in round 6.

If you hadn't noticed a lot of away fans go for a beer within a stream of p1ss distance to our turnstiles. They also park there and exit near to where we come out. Some even walk up to the Queen Vic.
This metal partition isn't The Great Wall of China.

Re: ARTICLE: BT to screen cup tie
I think teh club have created a problem by making the partition a pure wall rather than maybe a sliding shutter door. I'm told there is a a small door in it but id imagine thats for stewards/officials to pass through and wouldnt be sufficient with a large group of fans trying to move inbetween.Bin Ont Turf wrote:If you hadn't noticed a lot of away fans go for a beer within a stream of p1ss distance to our turnstiles. A handful of away fans in the cricket club and parking there is a bit different to 1600 fans piling into the car park behind the James Hargreaves stand. I don't object..but i am sure the police will. As well as having to police the usual set of turnstiles. Just a total no no to the police I would have thought.
