Should get the afternoon session in
Getting the weather from BBC, obviously it can be wrong, but looks like the weather front will be pushing in from around 3 this afternoon and then will stay around until 7 this evening.

I’d get a bet on if you think that and make a fortune! The draw is unlikely.
Went to place a bet yesterday actually but it was 9/4 for the draw, just checked now and it is 9/2, not the best odds.

Stokes has redeemed himself with all his tactics coming off this morning. Which is vital to keep everyone backing his ways 100%.

4.5/1 in a 3 result match are great odds if you think it's very likely.

That’s a very fair comment - quite ingenious really because it was looking like Australia could post 450.

I thought England were brilliant for most of that session.

Worried about Ali’s finger injury as it looks like spin could be the key to winning this test.

I think you just have to let him get on with it. He makes decisions that astonish all of us but he's very much in credit since becoming England captain. We are so much more positive now and he gets so much credit for that.

Please tell me how you get foakes and bairstow in the same test team upthecolne
You leave one of the other batters out. It's not rocket science.

Although I suspect the option England will take will be to leave Moeen out and use Root more.

Harry Brook been in outstanding form in the past year though.
Sorry, I didn't mean the specific number in the order, more as a specialist batter. So not Bairstow or Brook, but Bairstow or any of the specialist batters.

Ball doing something for the first time in this test thanks to overhead conditions.

Well that was frustrating... weather changes and aides the bowlers just when England start batting, and the Aussies take 2 quick wickets

Worrying that Ali might not be able to bowl at them in their 2nd innings

And yes, Smith really is a little rat.

According to a couple of mates who are there , it really did seem dark and the umpires should of took them off earlier . No excuse for a poor shot by Duckett again . I know it's " Bazball " but at times you can leave the ball outside your off stump .

Ali's finger injury will be irrelevant if we don't make many runs in this innings, (since he would be unlikely to get a bowl anyway).
It's a shame that the weather may well be turning the match strongly in Australia's favour.

The pitch is expected to turn more as the days go by especially the 5th day when the Aussies will be batting. Ali could be crucial.

Of course, but only if we have a total to bowl at.
That's my point.
The first session tomorrow is crucial.
If we lose a couple early then we could get rolled over quite quickly. We may not get to Day 5.

The on drive and cover driver by Root suggest he's in great touch.

Two ramp shots and then two wonderful shots from him. He really is a world class batsman.

The on drive along the floor has always been the biggest indicator of a man in form for me.
The natural shot is to raise it in the air, letting the bottom hand take over.

Whenever I watch Pope I always think he’s way too easy to get out. Not improved much in that sense. Could it be his place under threat with Bairstow moving into 3 and Foakes coming in?

Got to wonder whether they are debating drafting in Hains for the next test?

Is there a batsmen in better form anywhere in the country?

Poor from Root after getting himself in, just hope it doesn't come back and bite us , but looking at forecast for tomorrow with rain forecast for much of the day it could be a entertaining draw.

That declaration on day one could come back and bite us now but if that's the way forward against the no1 team in the world then it's brave.

How's the pitch playing? Anything over 200 and we have a chance? Need 250 plus minimum I think

weather forecast is iffy tomorrow and might be good for swing bowling

He has been made vice captain, not a chance he's dropped in this series.
