Man Utd (a)
Re: Man Utd (a)
Shout for vitinho who has improved massively lately, I slagged him off previously but has been great recently
also o shea who was immense today
Berge why did you do that ? Other than that he was arguably the best player on the pitch
If only we'd played this team earlier plus the additions who have been v good
All the poor decisions against us, forest luton villa wolves just off the top of my head
The games we've thrown away west ham home and away Everton and Brighton etc
Cmon Burnley we can do this
UT fkin Clarets

Re: Man Utd (a)
An odd game but in truth we looked to have the more quality. Overall, very good point and it's not often you can go to Old Trafford and be the better side and look to have the better players.
Negatives: very open game always look likely to be settled by a mistake. Both side look a bit rudderless and shapeless possibly because both managers are not up to this league.
With Forest having Man City tomorrow we are now within 2 points of them and one of Luton.
Sadly, you would think Forest will beat Sheffield United but you never know. What is for sure, and at the risk of repeating myself, these players don't deserve to go down and look much better than 24 points in 35 games.

Re: Man Utd (a)
Great line from Kompany to BBC:
“Hidden in the inexperience of our squad are some really, really good talents”
Maybe a bit more open than expected about the inexperience, even though it is obvious. I think the line sums our season up.

Why change a winning side I thought Odobert & Foster with Assignon attacking down the middle would be too much for Maguire/Casemiro but no in comes Fofana. Utd where there for the taking and VK let them off the hook maybe the sea air at Brighton is clouding his thoughts.

Very true
And had the referee / var decisions been fair, I think we'd be par for the course

Re: Man Utd (a)
The undoubted talent we've clearly had all season is now being married with a bit of Premier League experience, nous and grit and it seems that was all that was required. Nobody embodies this more than O'Shea, but tbf there are numerous other examples. I still feel it's all probably too late sadly, but we do now have a glimmer of a chance. I actually think VK hasn't helped us and has made mistakes regarding tactics, selections, formations and substitutions and I'm disappointed that his learning curve looks to still be lagging behind that of the players. Having said that fair play to the lads who are really giving it everything and without the calamitous og against Brighton we'd have been looking extremely likely.

When was the last time we went behind at Old Trafford and won any points before today?

3-3
1-0 and 2-1 down, then 3-2 up

Re: Man Utd (a)
Kompany said at the beginning of the season if these young players can just stay up this season then the future is so bright and you can see in the team now the confidence growing, just a few positions away from a good premier league team

Re: Man Utd (a)
Great result but why is he persisting with Fofana again up front. He hasn’t played well in around 3-4 games now. Foster scored last game, give him his position back up front!

Foster up top and Gudmundsson wide right for me next weekSuperjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:56 pmGreat result but why is he persisting with Fofana again up front. He hasn’t played well in around 3-4 games now. Foster scored last game, give him his position back up front!

Re: Man Utd (a)
The amount of mistakes we’ve made leading to other teams goals will really be our downfall. Must be at least ten mistakes now, can’t remember a Burnley team making so many in prem.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:16 pmThe undoubted talent we've clearly had all season is now being married with a bit of Premier League experience, nous and grit and it seems that was all that was required. Yep, either that or Odobert wide right with Brownhill coming in behind Foster.
Either way, just get Fofana back on the bench.

The keeper and back 4 absolutely excellent today.
Couple of bad passes but other than that excellent. Muric shot stopping brilliant again

Re: Man Utd (a)
Foster played centrally today and was really poor imo, seriously needs to work on his passing and dribbling, powerful runner then either over runs it or misplaces the pass.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:56 pmGreat result but why is he persisting with Fofana again up front. Re: Man Utd (a)
Why did Berge start mauling about instead of launching it .He should not be dropping back as
United were there for the taking and our gift was avoidable. Great penalty from Zeki.
Let's hope Everton turn-up at Luton next week.

Re: Man Utd (a)
I wonder if it has anything to do with the supposedly good relationship we have with Chelsea now? Keep giving their loan player lots of minutes, with an eye that we will get their top loan talents next season. I don't agree with the approach myself, but a possible factor why we keep picking him.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 7:56 pmGreat result but why is he persisting with Fofana again up front. Re: Man Utd (a)
When we have played with just one up front, we haven't been getting enough bodies into the box often enough. Foster and Fofana both want to get into scoring positions, so our attacking shape is better. Also Odobert is improving in uus forward position and I think we look better balanced. Obviously both Foster and Fofana need to play better than they did today but we need to persevere with them. Complaints that VK tinkers too much but people are regularly saying players should be left out when they don't have good games.
