Great performance and if I’m honest Sunderland didn’t even look close to beating us today

I wasn't that impressed with his signing for the money they spent but he still looks a quiality player. Opens play and times his movement wonderfully. A cut above Cullen, to be fair.
I don't often like quoting myself but, take a bow, Mr Cullen. Think he was the winner today. Brilliant.

I maintain that it wasn’t a ‘must win’,but still great to get that first win.

Sunderland brought back down to earth, now Arsenal will hopefully stuff Leeds.

Some of those being written off like Foster ,Sonne and Worrall were all crucial today in a good team performance.

Annoying Scottish commentator has already given us the points.....trying to jinx us.
Somebody mentioned Andy Walker earlier, I thought Davie Provan, it's that soft Glasgow accent. Whichever I get them regularly on streams and have no problem with either. Both honest, knowledgeable and impartial for me.

When you stand up and cheer our 2nd goal and half the pub join in, then they find out your a Burnley supporter in the middle of Sunderland! 'do you know where you are' was the angry comment. I've had to move on!

Proud of every player today. Our passing let us down at times but the commitment and the shape were perfect. Well done SP, every time they cross the white line they play for this man.
Nobody less than a 7 and many of them more. Bonus was a clean sheet for Dubravka.

I'd have taken a point, simply because I think it will take 4 or 5 games for SP to work out his best team, and another couple for them to gain that understanding.
But I'm delighted to take 3 points UTC

Lucky to be level at half time, but the 2nd half was different gravy. We'll not meet many worse teams than Sunderland but great to get those first 3 points. Thought Ekdal was superb today & the new lad Tchouma looks a real prospect.

Means a great evening and super weekend now, I’m not surprised with the result. Read comment on Sunderland re result, few had it as difficult, but draw or 0-1, quite a few had it as 0-3, delusional after last week!

Great performance all round, thought they were crap tho.

I couldn't pick a MOM. Probably between Cullen and foster.

Can't believe foster got a 6 in the ratings thread, thought he was top notch today

No Broja even on the bench
He was seen limping down the touchline before the game. So definitely injured, hopefully not too bad.

Always entertaining to read a match thread after a game we've won. What are some watching? Or maybe they are listening on the radio

After watching highlights back, we should of been 1-0 up because that’s never a foul by foster.

Sunderland should of been down to 10 men for adingras slap to Hannibal.

Haven’t seen a good angle of the Foster “goal’ but Adingras hand to face slap is a clear red but what do VAR know?

What I can’t understand is how the ref can book him, what’s he booking him for, if he’s raised his arm it’s a red card.

Put it this way, if the ref gives fosters goal then VAR doesn’t disallow it. Thankfully didn’t cost us.

Just reading the Sunderland forum, they just seem to think they would win easily today. We finished so far ahead of them last season, I don't get why they thought it would be an easy 3 points for them, they all seem certain we will finished bottom.

Absolute tunnel vision.

Agreed about Foster. Some on here have a dislike of some players and cannot accept a really good performance

Wonder what the odds would be on all three promoted teams winning their first home games of the season?
