The comment he made about Kompany was, to put it mildly, surprising.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 1:47 pmThere was the rumour going round that Beyer and kompany had a falling out over his injury and was back and fourth to Germany a lot, but then Beyer was one of the few players who posted about kompany leaving

Again I’m only quoting what an ex employee said but it wasn’t kompany he fell out with. I don’t think kompany got a say In when a player was deemed fit enough to play or not.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 1:47 pmThere was the rumour going round that Beyer and kompany had a falling out over his injury and was back and fourth to Germany a lot, but then Beyer was one of the few players who posted about kompany leaving
He was rushed back by the medical team and I think this is where the fall out was.

Who’s being sold off, you don’t half post some right negative stuff. So far we have sold muric for 10m plus add ons who by all accounts told the club after the last game of the season he wouldn’t be coming back.
We have rejected bids for Trafford, O’Shea and Berge by the looks of it so nobody is being sold off.
If players are sold it will be for fees we want, which happens when teams get relegated

Isn’t one of the problems we have at the moment , that we only have three fit centre backs and that was the reason Esteve wasn’t allowed to participate in the Olympics?

Defo. I don’t think any person would be writing a heartwarming post about someone who nearly ended their career. The lad I know who was an ex employee said a massive overhaul of the back room staff happened after the promotion season (he lost his job and now works with me) and that junior people were installed and a few issues have happened on the fitness side of things and injury prevention etc.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 1:51 pmYeah when I was told that it seemed strange that it was kompany but maybe kompany was who Beyer spoke to about his frustration

But I did hear off the same person that benson and VK fell out massively last season. All will be revealed in the upcoming mission to Burnley I hope.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
All managers make expensive mistakes in the market, Dyche paid £15m for Gibson and he was back training with Boro whilst we were paying his wages not long after. Without hindsight Henry smart arse stuff I thought Gibson and Tresor were good signings at the time.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 11:55 amAnd more so those who clearly had no control over his recruitment

You say perspective then blatantly lie. Here are the facts:
We paid £7m for O’Shea
We will not sell O’shea for £7m
We did not pay £16m for Beyer

Maybe the board will allow more scenes with a departed manager over one who is still employed by us? I think you’re right though will be a watered down series.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 2:12 pmHardly a surprise if they did fall out - somehow don't think all will be revealed though.

Was the fee not reported as £15m? And I’m aware of where we signed him from but he was allowed to go back training with Boro whilst under contract here.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 2:11 pmNo fee was ever quoted but Burnley signed him from Middlesbrough

I can't remember last time we ever quoted a fee, and, from what I was told, there was a need to get him away so it seemed sensible to let him train elsewhere.

Micheal Keane wants out of Everton imo he still has experience that could benefit us if Dara goes.

I'm pretty certain the story around at the time was 9 + add ons rising to 15 but he never made enough appearances to trigger the add ons - we got our money back in the sale to Norwich. No idea if it was ever officially released or I read it on here though

It was Keane's performances over two seasons with us (incl the PL) that got him the England debut. For a Burnley player achieving this, his performances must have been exceptional. We could do worse than Keane-at least he spends more time on the pitch than the treatment room, and never goes missing when no one quite knows where he isJakubs Tash wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 2:57 pmUnlike the current crop, you mean?
Michael Keane was a Rolls Royce of a defender for us. Even if there was a chance to sign him again he would be incredible at this level.

It equalled our record ever transfer at the time (we’ve since broke that a few times on last summers sh-it show !!)
We did, however, get £8m back on Gibson from Norwich and may have got some loan fees on top of that. When we signed Gibson I don’t think there were many of our fans who were not impressed with the signing, He was the Boro captain and also made the England squad. It looked a really quality signing at the time.

Not at Burnley he wasn’t.
I actually cannot remember a single calamitous mistake he made for us - but feel free to tell us all of a few of them.
Keane is probably the single most successful signing in our history. Fantastic player for us and a massive part of our promotion and a profit of over £25m when he left.
He’s lost his confidence recently but he’s definitely not on his own with that one at Everton.

But why the total silence about Delcroix, Obafemi and Tresor and several other fringe players ?
Not surprised nothing from the club, but not even anything from their agents or the usual pundits and commentators . Surprising.

Good to get those two out.
Weghorst, Obafemi, Trafford, Twine and McNally still to go without really impacting us in the slightest. Here’s hoping.

It's seven years since he left and he looks nothing like as good a player now as he did when he first went to Everton. I thought he was oustanding for us in the 2015/16 promotion season and then in the first year back in the Premier League but I don't think you'd be getting the same Michael Keane now as we had then. I know he had some mental health issues and I know he's had injuries and it looks as though it's taken its toll. He hasn't started a game since last December.warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 3:22 pmIt was Keane's performances over two seasons with us (incl the PL) that got him the England debut. I'm really sorry to have to tell you this but Vincent Kompany is no longer at Burnley so there is really no need to defend him with your constant nonsense and no need to keep accusing people of trying to use a stick to beat him with.KRBFC wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 5:08 pmExactly my point, most fans on here were delighted we got Tresor, most assists in Europe, Belgian international etc.

I'm aware that Mike Trésor has two caps for Belgium and I believe he got a lot of assists and goals in their league in 2022/23 season, but from what I saw of him last season I wouldn't give him a game in the reserves (if we had a reserves).

We don't really have local journos any more. There's Matt Scrafton at the Burnley Express but he doesn't cover us in the way that previous BE journalists have. Don't think there's anyone from the LT now and Lancs Live was very shortlived.

But there was almost universal joy on here and amongst most Burnley fans at the signing, nobody could foresee how it would pan out, including our manager at the time.
I thought with his record, he could have been a big player for us this season, for whatever reason it doesn't look like that will happen.

I absolutely see why we signed Tresor based on his impressive stats-maybe a little strange after the amount of wide men we already had however. The real worries for me-Bastian, Delcroix, Churlinov. There's no stats on these guys to prove they were any good and it seems that despite paying for all of them , the chances of now getting any fee for them is zilch

I don’t think anything I posted was nonsense, just highlighting that sometimes exciting signings don’t work out for whatever reason. Like you said Kompany is no longer here, I’m being pelted for defending a former BFC manager, quite the turnaround.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 5:18 pmI'm really sorry to have to tell you this but Vincent Kompany is no longer at Burnley so there is really no need to defend him with your constant nonsense and no need to keep accusing people of trying to use a stick to beat him with.

You are probably right CT. I just hope he has a couple more seasons, probably in the Championship with a club can unearth some of his defensive skills and experience . I suspect SD coming in to manage Everton gave him some hope he could break back into the Everton team, though once Braithwaite came back from loan , that was going to be impossible, bar injuriesClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 5:15 pmIt's seven years since he left and he looks nothing like as good a player now as he did when he first went to Everton. I will say there were a fair few people on this board that were saying it was stupid signing. Mainly due to the fact that we had so many wingers on the books and they couldn’t all play.
It was a stupid signing at the time and is even more stupid in himdsight.
Signings like tresor are the best examples of how poor our window was last season
