Well you can say yes we are until you're blue in the face, but no we're not. And that (for once on here) IS a FACT!

We're as safe as a safe bloke in Safetown wearing a safety belt.
Re: Are we safe
Don't forget that if Hull win both and Swansea win both and Hull get a 20-goal turnaround, we'll still be safe unless Palace win at Man United.

In fairness I didn't choose that name. It was given to me many years ago. For a GOOD reason!!CnBtruntru wrote:Can tell why you call yourself Dark Cloud

Re: Are we safe
I may start to worry if they start picking up 6 points for a win.Steve1956 wrote:Started to worry even Swansea are picking up points.
Re: Are we safe
We'd have to go on the worst run in the history of top flight football for us to get relegated, basically losing 14 matches in a row. Even the odd draw now and again will keep us up.Steve1956 wrote:Started to worry even Swansea are picking up points.
It will also require a dramatic collapse of the form of the top six clubs in that they'll have to start losing on a regular basis to those at the bottom.
Do you really think that will happen?

Not until the Fat Lady sings.
Re: Are we safe
We've still got to play 5 or 6 of the teams who will be fighting for their premiership lives
and all of them will see the games against us as 'can win, must win.'
But surely we'll be able to get a couple of results against them.
One win and a few draws will be enough. So 5 or 6 points will see us safe.
The sooner we get them the better.

Re: Are we safe
I have to confess that I am a rather evil person. When Skybet were offering 500/1 for Burnley to be relegated, I put a tenner on it as a sort of insurance against profound misery. So if we should go down, then you will have the unusual phenomenon of someone who has just won £5,000 and is absolutely gutted about it.
Re: Are we safe
So far we've played 14 games against the 12 teams below us, and won 8 drawn 4 lost 2 = 28 points. Two points per game. We have 10 games left - we don't need 2 points per game, half a point per game would do. Come on boys - we can do this!jurek wrote:We've still got to play 5 or 6 of the teams who will be fighting for their premiership lives

Worse than Blackpool did a few seasons back?Spijed wrote:We'd have to go on the worst run in the history of top flight football for us to get relegated, basically losing 14 matches in a row. Even the odd draw now and again will keep us up.

Having looked at their relegation, yes, we would have to show much worse form over the last 16 games.
