Would be happy with this the club will have done their research and Dyche will no a lot more about how he would be detrimental to the team their has been plenty of suitors but we are the ones that believe he bring something to the table

I bet they get him for less than 10 m
Re: Abdul majeed waris
Good news - we beat Chelsea and drew at Spurs. Bad news - we're signing a player that I wouldn't have signed. And you seriously think that that's depressing? Time to give up football, I think. Anyone who can't be happy about where Burnley FC is at, is in the wrong game.claretrobo1 wrote:This is getting more depressing by the minute

Re: Abdul majeed waris
There has to be a value for money question, over every potential signing we make.
The powers that be, have decided Waris isn't worth more than we were willing to pay, fair dos.
I would rather have Gayle, younger, fitter and a better record than Wells, but either of them is only likely to be used sparingly from the bench. At a quarter of the asking price for Gayle, Nakhi Wells is probably a lot better vfm.
Either way I wouldn't argue with Dyche or the board, they've never let us down yet, even though some people still have little or no faith.

Possibly on his way to West Ham, with Diafra Sakho on his way to Rennes.

http://www.ouest-france.fr/sport/footba ... am-5213179On the eve of the closing of the transfer window, FC Lorient will still see some players leave. Majeed Waris could join Burnley (English Premier League). The two clubs agreed on the amount of the transfer but there are still details to be settled, including the work permit of the Ghanaian striker. West Ham did not say his last word either. Meanwhile, Maxime Barthelmé will start tonight on his way to Châteauroux, where his arrival will be formalized tomorrow.
It is the serial of the Lorient mercado. (Burnley, West Ham, Birmingham City), Majeed Waris (under contract with the FCL until 2020) must leave the Breton club by Thursday evening.
According to our information, the Lorientan leaders came across the Ghanaian striker's transfer price to Burnley for GBP 10 million (just over € 10.8 million) and 25% In the case of subsequent resale of the player. But two details remain to be settled: the terms of payment of the transfer, on which the two clubs are still discussing, and obtaining a work permit for the Ghanaian striker, which drags in length.
Meanwhile, the English media Skysport recounts Wednesday afternoon that Waris is currently in London to discuss ... with West Ham, which seeks to replace Diafra Sakho, party to Stade Rennais. West Ham or Burnley, the future of Waris must in any case be written in England and will be known in the hours to come.

Just seen it!
Re: Abdul majeed waris
Article doesn't make much sense (may be lost in translation). If he's in talks with West Ham they must have agreed a fee as well and they're likely to offer better wages.

It suggests we're close to finalising a deal with Lorient, with a figure agreed and it now being down to payment structure.

Burnley and Lorient have agreed the fee, but they're discussing terms of instalments to get the right fit for both parties.martin_p wrote:Article doesn't make much sense (may be lost in translation). West Ham haven't made further contact with Lorient, I assume after an initial enquiry.
Waris is in London according to Sky Sports, and they think it's to sign for West Ham.
It could be to sign for us.

I have to admit I like the look of Waris (video clips, of course), he looks to have really good technique, and is a bit of a nutter...just what I like in a forward!

It's like Snodgrass. We both agree a fee, then West Ham blow us out of the water with wages and being in London. Not much we can do about either of those things.
Turns out when we demand that we look to Europe for bargains, there's other clubs doing the same. Who'd have thought that?! Mental.

Waris has spent his career playing in top divisions. Wells made his name playing for a 4th division team.

Re: Abdul majeed waris
Why? Waris scored 8 goals last season in a poor league. Take out PSG, Monaco and Lyon and the standard is decidedly average. I'll stick my neck out here and say I reckon Wells would score 8 in Ligue 1 as well. Dyche knows what he's doing.Quicknick wrote:I'd rather have him than Wells.

Re: Abdul majeed waris
It was a potential problem in that he didn't automatically qualify for one and it would have required an appeal. West Ham would be in the same position as us although I'm not certain of how the appeal process works.gandhisflipflop wrote:Why would west ham get a permit and not us?
From what I hear, that was just a stumbling block alongside other problems with the deal for us.
Re: Abdul majeed waris
I never really understood our link/chase of this guy in that the reports of his attitude (missing training etc) didn't fit with what Dyche as built at the club. I'm not too disappointed by his failure to sign as too much risk involved imo.
Re: Abdul majeed waris
Nothing definite on the French sites I know.
Re: Abdul majeed waris
Confirmed on SSN at West Ham for talks
Re: Abdul majeed waris
Boiled Ham can probably leave it late to get a work permit when we all know the FA don't like us
