Got a feeling 20000 home fans might be more of an incentive in these types of games. 2-0 looks reasonable but would we have been able to motivate the lads a bit more tonight?

Take 2-0! Fairly solid performance, no threat whatsoever of us scoring though, but apart from a daft mistake from Pope could have been tight. Big 3 games next. UTC!

Final act of the match another abysmal cross. Game after game this is all we get. We need a specialist coach cos whoever is taking it on isn’t good enough. This is a practise makes perfect skill and we need to practise more.

Absolute dogpops. A rancid performance. City didn't have to try. They were able to rest up in the middle of a league game. Didn't commit to any challenges.

Talking about the pen decision.

The fall bore no resemblance to the touch.

What has 'contact' got to do with anything????

Not a proper pen.

Well, 0-2 could be called somewhat of a success, didn't do too much damage to the precious good difference, which may come in handy. Now it's up to us to get a decent amount of points from our next 3 league games.

Onward and upward!

Lots of better teams than us will lose by more against them. Indeed, several already have.

When we have a quarter of their money, maybe we'll have a chance. Until then, we suck it up and move on.

We didn't do too badly overall and I agree that Pope's early error meant any remote chance of an upset was scuppered before it ever got off the ground. We actually got into some decent situations going forward and could/should have made more of them at times. Our opportunities to get a cross in are absolutely at a premium right now, so can we stop sending in utterly awful ones and try to make them actually count please?

No disgrace in losing to the team likely to be crowned champions in a few months, and 2-0 is at least respectable.

The better news is Fulham also lost at home, so the gap remains 8 points, I'd have settled for that after facing Chelsea and City, now we have games where we can pick up points, and these next 3 games will determine whether we pull clear or face a nervous end to the season.

Glad to see Benson & Mumbongo get a run out, the experience won't do them any harm.

Pundits have swallowed this contact rubbish, hook line and sinker.

When they don't want it to ge a pen, it comes "There was contact....but not enough, for me, for a pen". "I agree, he felt the touch and went down too easily".

Later....therewas contact, he felt a slight touch and was 'entitled' to go down. Definite penalty, won by xxxx"

We did clearly some posters have short memories, it's worth pointing out that West Brom got tonked 5-0 by City a couple of weeks ago, and they were 4-0 down by HT, does that make BFS a disgrace?

Decent result given what we were up against, just bothers me though how we lack total creativity in and around opposition boxes and not just against the top teams, I don`t know if we have an attacking coach or if we do who it is but he`s not earning his money if we have

Tonights result means nowt in the greater scheme of things ... Fulham getting done over leaves them 8 points adrift of us is far more important.
Realistically anyone tginking we would get something from Citeh (looking at our recent history) is in cloud cuckoo land.

The most important thing is we were not on the wrong end of another 5-0 ...

So we park this and move onto Brighton on Saturday ... now there is a game that matters 🙄

Come on you Clarets

Football is basically crap these days.
The rule changes (from the game I grew up with) have completely ruined it.

Could not agree more and it has helped destroy the game. I’d rather watch The Big Match Revisited than (Burnleyless) MoftD, and it’s not as though they didn’t dive, but they got to made stupid for it... why did that change, sure the rule didn’t.
