Tenner says he didn't.
Absolutely anyone with a bit of an idea about football would immediately have known that with Kompany going, Lampard and Parker were in the frame.

Just seen on his daughter’s insta that Alan was at the Killers last night in Manchester dancing away. Seems pretty chilled about the situation

Re: Next manager
You sure about that? Because I can remember that most people on this board were surprised and said it's "Nixon talking ******** again". I guess we all also knew Bellamy is considered? You also probably think that anyone with "a bit of an idea about football" would have known that we are signing Drinkwater, Twine, Ramsey, Obafemi, Cornet and Collins. Those are just some of the stories he broke that I personally remember.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 4:27 pmTenner says he didn't.

But I will stop posting about Nixon because I've clearly touched the nerve. I guess it's easier to believe some Swedish site no one has ever heard of or some random UTC member saying "he heard" or "has been told" something.

Carlos Corberan has now usurped RVN to become favourite 6/4 (William Hill) and 7/4 (Sky Bet).

There is. The Leicester job being filled.
We’ll be his back up after that job like Lampard seems to have Sunderland as his back up to our job.
Re: Next manager
Why is his position as a player important at all? And he's probably the highest rated manager in this league.Wile E Coyote wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 5:38 pman ex goalie who played for spains version of dog and duck, then done next to nowt over here as a coach. why on earth would Burnley even consider this a good move? it must be a dud link

I’d take him. Four solid years in the Championship and reached the play offs twice having had precious little leeway in terms of bringing in players.Wile E Coyote wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 5:38 pman ex goalie who played for spains version of dog and duck, then done next to nowt over here as a coach. why on earth would Burnley even consider this a good move? it must be a dud link

Re: Next manager
depends on whether or not any of the "big names" are genuine candidates or not.
If youre comparing championship management and amateurish playing career and men who have played at highest level for clubs and country, and have been hugely successful at it, I know who I would choose.

I would imagine Corberan is now pretty desperate to get a job, any job, as his position at his current club must be almost untenable now after touting himself around every vacant management job going.

Re: Next manager
That should be the reason we don't take him. Has the same pulling power as Dyche when it comes to signing talent, so doesn't fit the bill.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 6:15 pmI’d take him. Re: Next manager
We don’t know if he has the pulling power or not. West Brom were skint. He didn’t have any money to spend regardless.
And let’s be fair, no matter what they say in a club interview, the only pulling power 99% of players care about these days is the contract they’re getting.

Is this the Sean Dyche who took us up and kept us up for six years with only spending a fraction of the amount we spent last summer?

Exactly. Dyche must have spent most of his career in the lower 2 leagues (I'm presuming he had a few seasons in the Championship).ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 8:53 pmPlaying at the highest level often doesn’t mean good manager.

I know that, but I expressed a preference based on those attributes, plus a reluctance to have us coached by a lesser talent in the game .ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 8:53 pmPlaying at the highest level often doesn’t mean good manager.
I could reel off a list of top players who flopped as coaches, but Im certain most fans would opt for a man with a proven track record in the game.
