That ruling of the WCJ today suggests that if he carries on - all World Court Rules are voided where Russia is concerned - meaning anyone can take them out, without possibility of ‘sanction’ (prosecution)- (edit) outside Russia, obvs.

Totally agree with all of this Spiral - re the point about frustrated blokes - just have to look at the vitriol on websites like 4chan et al and how rancid it all gets. A big circle jerk of losers till one does something really awful, like the NZ attack.

But yeah there’s pure hatrid here, i used to think Putin was best of a bad bunch for Russia but hands up I was wrong (more dreaded to see the possible alternatives) , still seeing folk sympathise with him. Sickening.

Quite right, only since the End of the Second World War has Russia been seen as a ‘natural’ enemy. Russia is among Britains longest and most dependable allies from the time of Peter the Great. They helped beat The Sun King (Louis XIV, Seven Years Wars, Napoleon, and the Early American/Canadian Wars with France… poorly led, but (nearly) always dependable people.

Its not the ICJ judgement that is concentrating Russian minds

Its two things

- Ukrainian resistance

- Western Sanctions

Don't get me wrong, from a purely "We are in the right" stand point, its good to have the UN and the ICJ on side, but it would be completely irrelevant if Russia was romping all over Ukraine

Worth mentioning as well, as the front lines settle down and there is more time to (for want of a better word) to do things that a proper army should, then the Russians have a lot of very capable equipment and munitions that will enable them to degrade Ukrainian equipment in a set piece battle format

Ukraine will have to be very careful with artillery batteries, that kind of thing, and making sure that they fire and then move to avoid counter battery fire (same is true of the Russians, but they have more equipment to lose)

Course, if the Russians can't rebuilt their morale and supply issues, then its not going to make enough of a difference
