Respect to Rob Edwards. He gave an honest answer re their 'goal'.
I like him as a manager and a person and at the end of the day a draw was a fair result. No side deserved to lose as the effort from both teams was magnificent.

I’m not quite sure what it was but I think it’s generous at best to say that an attempt was made at all.Westleigh wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 9:15 amHow is it that if some doesn’t agree with obviously claret and blue specs that they have an agenda ? What a stupid tag to put on someone ,it’s like being called the opposite of a happy clapper ,I prefer Muric but with about 10 mins to go said to the guy behind me how I thought Trafford had improved no end ,and then he made a pathetic attempt to get the ball.

Re: Burnley v Luton
The goal was sickening but on the balance of play a draw was probably a fair result - particularly first half.
Luton know how to play against us. There are easiest games for us than Luton. They had our number at the away game and we did well for a smash and grab. Similar last season, hard games.
I didn't expect to turn them over like Shef U. Doesn't take away how gutting it was to concede so late.

Out of the 20k fans on the Turf last night I bet not even 4k of them have voted

I'd say it's more than an handful of people quite a substantial amount of people who participated in this poll you are roughly looking at 1 in 3 who thought Trafford wasn't fouled, in fairness 2 out 3 do. Anyroad it's not as obvious & clearcut as some people are making out.dsr wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 1:32 amI think this is the cause of disagreement. Bumba and most of the other vociferous minority who think it wasn't a foul, think it's no foul because Adebayo was standing still, holding his ground, unmoving. The majority who think it was a foul do so because they believe that Adebayo moved into Trafford's path.
If only VAR had some moving pictures so we could establish the truth ...

Just watched MOTD and even if it was a foul or not, it was a really **** poor effort from both Trafford and Ekdal.

Re: Burnley v Luton
Ekdal wasn't brilliant but he was caught between trying to mark 2 men because Al Dakhil let Morris lose him and shrug him off like nothing. Really, really week and uncommitted effort from him at stopping his man.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 11:23 pmJust watched MOTD and even if it was a foul or not, it was a really **** poor effort from both Trafford and Ekdal.

Re: Burnley v Luton
So I’ve calmed down a bit now. I couldn’t sleep last night with VARsomnia.
Overall I think a draw was a fair result, earned in a particularly unfair way.
Luton are better than many give them credit for and I knew it would be tough. A lot of teams won’t take 4 points off them this season.
Some positives from me:
- Point without Berge (my PotS so far), Charlie/a sub LB & Beyer (my defender).
- Ekdal returned and looked like he’d never been away. Our CB options will **** the Champ.
- AAD deputised well at LB
- Despite my Muric leanings, I thought Trafford had another great game till the error. Commanded well.
- Fosters general play was excellent again.
Negatives:
- More missed sitters
- Cannot take a throw in
- Tresor looking disinterested
- our forwards (inc Tresor) seem incapable of just trapping a ball and dealing with it instead of conceding possession with fancy flicks

Re: Burnley v Luton
Richards said its a blatant foul. Murray said goalkeepers are protected too much without really answering the question, which obviously isn't the point.

These pundits love the new industry which is VAR .boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 10:37 amDoes their opinion really matter?
We only believe them when they agree with us.
Listened to Savage who , shock horror, agreed the goal should stand.
Listened to Michael Gray who took a different tack and concentrated on Burnley's goal being doubtful because Gudmundsson obstructed the goalkeeper and things being even
It's easy to spot the connection isn't it

Re: Burnley v Luton
Murray DID answer the question his opening remark was “ I believe that it’s NOT a foul”. He then went on to explain his reasoning adding that there was a perception that players should part like the Red Sea when the goalkeeper comes for the ball, and that they are becoming a protected species. Lineker then added that on a Group Chat Alan Shearer expressed his view that it was NOT a foul on Trafford.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 10:05 amRichards said its a blatant foul. Re: Burnley v Luton
There seems to be something in common about each pundit that has said it wasn’t a foul… Sherwood, Shearer, Murphy, Sutton & Savage. Hmm, I can’t quite work it out?

Re: Burnley v Luton
Yes apologies Mrs Murray, he DID say that. It's also the weakest reason ever, basically saying keepers are protected too much so although that's always given as a foul, this time it shouldn't be. Pathetic.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 4:02 pmMurray DID answer the question his opening remark was “ I believe that it’s NOT a foul”.
