Not in the match day squad today (I wonder if he was playing against our U18's today?). He hasn't played since he was hauled off at half time at Scunthorpe (7th Jan), but has been on the subs bench.

We were all meant to go on a club bashing session because he's a 'regular starter in a League 1 side', but he wasn't and still isn't a regular starter.

Hmm not sure that a footballer should have the same name as a ladies hair dressing salon.

It is the job of the football club to do the best for the young lads in our youth system. If it was deemed that Styles was a potential future first teamer, they would also have looked who else was already ahead of him and deemed it in his interest not to be tied to the club. Years ago (and I doubt its changed) when it came to releasing players the club would ring around the likes of Bury, Blackpool and other local clubs giving them the heads up on potential becoming available. I would expect this is how he ended up at Bury.

That's not how he ended up at Bury - they snapped him up the minute they heard he was being released by Burnley, hardly able to believe they'd got him.

I saw an article in the BE the other day about a Burnley lad called Morgan Crowther, he'd signed for another league team having left Blackburn. I know Blackburn are better than us at youth team level but why was a Burnley season ticket holder not joining us? surely not a decision made by the lad himself. I know of several other local lads who are at different clubs, Ryan Fulton at Liverpool, Marko Marosi at Doncaster, Ok they may not turn out good enough for our first team in years to come by why aren't they picked up earlier on. Surely recruiting for youngsters for the academy (CoE or whatever its called) starts at home...

For a while it has seemed to have started by grabbing kids let go from bigger clubs .....

I know of a few kids who the club have been told about and not been bothered about and then tried to rush a trial for them when another local team goes in for them..... By then there is a little annoyance from parents that Burnley ha a chance and never did anything til other clubs came in.

Answered quite easily - the youth department was run into the ground by Jason Blake and his team.

He's played around about 210 minutes in Bury's last 3 games where they have gained 9 points. He got an assist tonight as well.

Fair play.

I heard there were a number of enquiries from Premier League clubs in January but obviously nothing happened. Bury jumped in quickly when we released him because they saw a potential quick sale to make some money.

There was disbelief from academy staff at Burnley when he was released.

Recently signed a new contract with Bury. With no sell on fee to another team, could prove to have been a very good piece of business for Bury.

The lad WOULD OF never got the games or the stage to show his potential to potential suites, playing against Accrington on a Tuesday afternoon on Belvedere rugby club...

Since flood, Howe and fletcher have had no control over our club for some time who is the idiot(s) who have continued to employ Jason Blake in his role until last summer and effectively gave an incompetent fool the decision making power to release this player?

Surely this is where the buck should stop and it surprises me as for the past 3 or 4 years all I've read on here from those supposedly in the know is how well run our club is
