Van Dijk
Re: Van Dijk
Romeu was the pick of the two but both are seriously impressive.
Beating them today was massive, they are underachieving.
Good side put to the sword by one of the best Premier League sides without the ball.
It's only after games you realise how hard we are to score against.

Re: Van Dijk
I thought he was class today.
Having said that does he have pace? Would he keep up with the top strikers?

Re: Van Dijk
his positional play would get him out of trouble against pacey strikers - he's the opposite of someone like Kyle Walker who's pace bails him out
Re: Van Dijk
Yeah probably right. Most CB don't have pace. He is one of the best defenders I have seen live in near 30 years of watching football

Re: Van Dijk
fidelcastro hasn't seen anything from him that suggests he shouldn't be the first name on the team sheet.

Re: Van Dijk
To think that some on here said he wasn't good enough for us when he was at Celtic and a rumour came up we may be interested. One of the most dominating CB performances I have ever seen even if he did end up on the losing side.
Re: Van Dijk
I didn't realise how good he was until Wednesday when I did my intel on the oppo. A beast of a performance and probably the most dominant one I've ever seen from a defender. Would be in my World XI but my knowledge of international football is rank average.

Re: Van Dijk
Didn't see a trip on Boyd but 2 previous times I've seen them for 90 minutes this season he's got away with 2 shockers. Penalties against us and Arsenal but both times ref got it horribly wrong. Clumsy one on Gray today went unpunished and he misjudged a ball over the top which let us get in behind. If those mistakes go punished I don't think everyone else would be getting so carried away. Undoubtedly has the attributes mind.

Not upset at all mate.KRBFC wrote:I doubt he's arsed about his current club losing to his future clubnah seriously, I was praising an opposition players performance because I was surprised at how good he actually is, probably one of the best defensive performances from one individual opposition player I have seen live. I wanted other posters' opinion to see if I was over reacting/it was all in my head. Sorry if I upset you, I wasn't saying anything negative about us/our performance/our manager.

I think the lad oozes class and is destined for a top club.
