The wit and wisdom of Clarets fans
Re: The wit and wisdom of Clarets fans
At Bradford many years ago I recollect us singing "You ate all the pies" at their (Then) mascot "The City Gent". He opened his briefcase - took out a pork pie, gave us a wave and ate it. Probably a regular stunt but it made everybody laugh - and sometimes it is quite nice to have a rapport with the other team.......but not after the kick-off.

Went to Carlisle in the 80s. They had a bulldog that was their mascot that they would walk around the ground. Seem to remember Burnley fans chucking bits of pie crust on to the pitch. Dog was going mental trying to get at the food and was literally dragging the bloke on the lead around the ground.
