As said in a previous post recycle clothes, buggies, toys etc.and manage your income.

The world is overpopulated including Britain and the situation is only going to get worse, why do you think China introduced such drastic measures. You only have to look at our already overstretched resources like A&E's, food banks, people living on the streets, lack of social care etc.

If you think what is basically paying people to have children is the answer, you're living in cloud cuckoo land. The welfare system is being abused by so many these days and if we don't change it then there won't be a welfare system in the future, it is becoming unsustainable.

Don't the population need to have 2.2 children per couple to prevent population decrease and an economic collapse?

Japan is in a right state because no one is having children and there are not enough people working to pay for pensions.

Putting a restriction on who has kids and how many will make the economy worse not better

Cricketfield- the problem is that it is a gamble deciding what is really wrong with someone over the phone-hence the referral of minor things by 111 to A@E.
If 111 gets it wrong the other way then there is hell to pay.

You don't have to put any restrictions on who has children but that there has to be a limit. You can't really expect the state to pay 2 out of work parents to have 20 children. Slight exaggeration I know but you get the gist.

I've had a similar experience to cricketfield with 111. I rang them to request an out of houss GP appointment because I needed strong prescription pain relief. They insisted I went to the Emergency Department at Blackburn. It was far from an emergency or life threatening. ED is used inappropriately far too often.

But some do gooder will say she's only getting what she's entitled to. But they forget to mention it's paid for by every tax payer in the country. The welfare system is a shambles.

I'm assuming for a second that you are being serious.

Though clearly the welfare system needs reform, are we at the stage as a society where we ignore children just because their only crime is being born?

I f**king hope not.

Me and my wife have just been approved to adopt after a lengthy and intense training and assessment process.

It was discussed that it wouldn't be a bad thing to make everyone go through the same process before they can have children. But as it would be impossible to manage, not to mention want happens to children born into familes who haven't "passed" it is a non-starter.

If you having more than 2, you should be able to look after them yourself, not expect others too.
What if a single women has quadruplets? It would be pretty f**ked up for the government to punish her for ''not working and being on the dole''.

That is such a weary post. As previously posted but with twins quoted it would be a simple exercise to put in safeguards for events such as these.

So basically, common sense? That rules out that possibility then.
