Re: Other end of the Bob Lord stand
I've been told by a close source that Dyche wants Bob Lord to become a two-tier stand as well as the corners being filled in.

Re: Other end of the Bob Lord stand
The corners being filled in is extremely unlikely given the poor alignment of the stands. In particular, there is the mismatch of the Linpave Stands built in 1995 where the Jimmy Mac Stand goes beyond the touchlines.
I sit exactly in the middle of the stand, yet my view is down the right handed side of the six yard box.

No point unless we have a situation where there was excess demand for tickets for all games which is unlikely.

Re: Other end of the Bob Lord stand
The poor alignment was not the fault of the architects or Linpave but was largely due to the fact we had to retain the Police Box on the Bee Hole End / Bob Lord corner.
OK, maybe not.
With our financial position at the time it was a huge commitment but we were surely naive in letting the new stands be built where there was no option just to fill in the JMS and the JHS with seating of a similar design and rake.

I seem to have this recollection that it was the fault of Linpave? I know there was a court case for £300K, which we didn't have to pay them in the end. In my mind from years ago they built the Longside 10m too far forward? I thought the plan was to move the pitch further over?Dressinggown wrote:The poor alignment was not the fault of the architects or Linpave but was largely due to the fact we had to retain the Police Box on the Bee Hole End / Bob Lord corner.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure clever structural engineers could still fill that corner in, even by removing a part of the current Jimmy Mac. Not sure of the point and what we'd gain though.
