Four now confirmed dead.(Scotland Yard/BBC)
Re: Shots fired outside Westminster
3 hot meals a day, a warm bed at night and 24hr protection awaiting for that scumbag.
Probably be a better life than he had on the outside.
I'd like to see him gutted.
I don't think I could resist not shooting him in the head, if I was the first officer on the scene.

Not really the point though is it. It's how you stop another individual from doing something similar. I'm not sure there's an answer. Anyone can run a car onto the kerb and mow down innocents. You can't have security everywhere, and you can't totally ban knives. I was using one myself to carve a chicken but 45 minutes ago, and a less sharp one to eat it, but 10 minutes ago.ElectroClaret wrote:I know how to stop him doing it again.....

Wtf?Imploding Turtle wrote:There are people who like it when these kinds of thing happen. It happens a lot in the US where people instinctively see things like this as a propaganda opportunity but not so much in the UK. Claretandy is proof that there are some of those types here, but he's the exception not the rule.
2 people are dead. I think we can at least wait till they're cold before we blame liberals for it, or the right for it, or whoever we want to be to blame for it.

Fair point but equally isn't it a good thing when terrorist turns peacemaker, and effectively brings an end to terrorism in that region?BennyD wrote:A terrorist died yesterday and another today. As one of his political adversaries said yesterday. "It's not how we start off in life but where you finish" (or words to that effect). That was Ian Paisley's son. If the DUP can largely move on - without forgetting what he was, then I think the rest of us should try.
Nelson Mandela's terrorist past has virtually been wiped from history nowadays because of how it all ended.

Re: Shots fired outside Westminster
Similar to the nearly daily attacks going on in Sweden France and Germany which liberals pretend are not happening. Erdogan speaking at a press conference in Ankara today said: “If Europe continues this way, no European in any part of the world can walk safely on the streets.”
He added: “We, as Turkey, call on Europe to respect human rights and democracy.” which is ironic, given Turkey’s appalling record on human rights!
Two days ago Erdogan called on Turks in Europe to be the Continent's (Europe) Future: 'Have 5 Children, Not 3'
We have let them all in and now they will eventually take over. The bizarre thing for me is not only have we let this invasion happen our liberal politicians have actually encouraged it.

You know there are some pretty thick posters on here, but SussexDoninIreland is my favourite one.
There isn't a Daily Mail editorial he won't steal, or quote as facts. Anything will do as long as it backs up his warped view of the UK.
Well done sir, to shine out like you do on here takes some doing.

No, I don't
What I want is people to stop turning a lone idiot into something bigger to justify their political/personal aims. If you want to engage me in a debate about Erdogan and his current political tactics to make sure he wins his referendum at home, then feel free.
CM
I remember when Brexit was happening, the Telegraph went to Clacton-on-Sea and the first two people they spoke to wanted to know why the Navy wasn't in the Mediterranean, sinking refugee boats.
You need to read it, especially after Muslim v Muslim terrorist incidents.
Some people on both sides are not capable of seeing death and destruction for what it really is. The only thing that makes stuff like this worse is if more and more people on both sides think violence is the only way to deal with each other.

I rarely comment on political/ religious threads, but I'll make an exception today. I'll keep it short.
Yet again we have innocent people dying horrifically, killed by individuals who believe in a fairy story, and on here, the usual suspects are arguing the toss, like kids in the playground. It really is pathetic. I cant be bothered going into any more detail, because if I did, no doubt, someone would try and twist my words and draw into an internet argument.
Whatever your personal thoughts or opinions, perhaps at a time like this, sometimes its best to keep them to yourself.

The scale of support when an Islamic inspired attack happens compared to something like that is negligible. Apparently reactions like the one I posted are common place on Arab media when events like this happen and it's more than just two or three idiots. A lot of these people genuinely hate the west and see these types of attacks as a victory for Islam. That is just a sad, hard reality.

Yeah, gallows humour but maybe not totally without grounds, because so far he fits our currently approved profile of 'mentally ill' - beard, dark skinned, ploughing a car into pedestrians, wielding a blade, probably screaming "Allah is greater" in Arabic....it may transpire that his parents and friends will say that he had not been a good Muslim - he drank, had casual sex but then he became more devout recently, started going to mosque and reading the Qur'an more regularly, became really pious in the last few weeks...became mentally ill.Imploding Turtle wrote:Says who?
It may be that he discovered, as it appears that many of the ones who suffer from this particular mental illness also discover, that redemption for those who have been 'bad' Muslims and entry into paradise and access to the virgins is only specifically guaranteed to "those who kill and are killed in the way of Allah" - murder by martyrdom, everybody else has to wait for judgement day to find their fate which is in no way certain, no matter how devout they think they have been, martyrs who murder on the other hand are straight in there.
It is a special particular kind of mental illness, it must have a name by now.....as well as the few closer to home there have been hundreds of similar cases of vehicular attacks by knife wielding Arabic screaming mentally ill bearded mosque going people in Israel in the past few years since the last infitada. It's one of the prefered MOs in this new wave of attacks by the mentally ill these days.
So yes, possibly mentally ill.
