Re: Brian Jensen Q + A
That night at Chelsea will always be kne of my favourite whilst supporting Burnley.
Can you name another keeper who gave us so many good memories from individual moments?
Yes, he had limitations.....most of our team did back then.... I think people forget we used to actually be prettt schit nowadays so find bigger faults in players we used to have.
The beast was a brilliant ambassador for the club - his commitment was also brilliant. His fondness of a club that he spent so long at due to consistently being the 2nd choice keeper yet managing to play most games ahead of the first choice shows just how much he worked for his personal goals. He could have spent 10 years here and picked up a wage sat on the bench but he always gave his all whenever he pulled on a shirt and gloves for the team......his all might not be good enough for some of you......... But for me, it's quite alright.

We were a team that were fluttering around the bottom of the Championship/Div 1 when he came.ElectroClaret wrote:"Yes, he had limitations...."![]()

You don't say.
He got us to the semi finals of a major conpetition and to the Prem.
We're lightyears away from the team we were back then but it doesnt sit right with me when fans start slating a player who had a brilliant career with us because he messed up a few times here and there as all players do.

Naff keeper.
No confidence in him what so ever, and will always be remembered for that one glorious season and one or two games the season after it as opposed to the really, not so great rest.
He's just lucky to have played a big part in a season that burnley fans are incredibly sentimental about.

I hope that's a genuine post DC,I find it incredible Brian hasn't had a testimonial after ten years serving our club and ultimately helping us to where we are today.DCWat wrote:I'm still waiting on that testimonial date.

If he had pulled his finger out and got one organised he would have had one. Its up to the player to organise not the club so there's only one person to blame for it not happening

B*llocks, Kiraly and Coyne were both better keepers.clerkenwell.claret wrote:Is it not the case that Brian was the best keeper we could hope for at the time.
He was a great servant for our team at a time when it was more thin than thick.

Re: Brian Jensen Q + A
Jensen was a big lummox, a man of his size with the balls of a mouse.
Whenever he came off his line you knew we were in trouble, like at Luton when he ran outside the area and picked up the ball, leaving us with Spicer in the goal

Its not just me saying so its the FA as well.Steve1956 wrote:Ok mate if you say so.
The club can only allow the use of its ground with written consent from the league for a testimonial, the actual organising of the players involved and match day is done by a committee appointed by the player, so yes there is only one person to blame for Jensen not getting a testimonial the person who didn't organise a committee.

Re: Brian Jensen Q + A
I like Jensen as a bloke but he was a very mediocre keeper.
Re: Brian Jensen Q + A
Best moment when we were at home to Wolves and he ran out and tried to insert his head up Doyle's ar$e, then feigned injury...
He wasn't very good overall and caused me to watch a great many opposing team attacks through my fingers but come on, he doesn't deserve some of the comments he's getting..

Brian, what kind of car to do you drive?
Gained immortality for saving Jon Obi Mikel's penalty at Stamford Bridge. Thanks for the best away day being a claret I've had.

1 penalty save doesn't make up for 9 and a half years of being crap. Another howler I remember was the Paul Ince goal for Wolves at the Turf, laughable goalkeeping but typical Jensen.Pstotto wrote:Brian, what kind of car to do you drive?

Re: Brian Jensen Q + A
Not very popular are you KBRFC
Re: Brian Jensen Q + A
It's not a popularity contest, I'm here to discuss football with fellow fans of the same club. I don't care who agrees/disagrees, I'm not intentionally typing what posters want to read to make online friends. I type as I see, it doesn't make me correct but it doesn't make me wrong. Football is all about opinions yet some on here get genuinely upset when they read a post of mine that they disagree with, while I sit back and laugh while I watch grown men emotionally break down and throw a hissyfit over genuine opinion on football. Btw you still can't get my username correctCooperclaret wrote:Not very popular are you KBRFC
