You need money to run a successful academy which you don't have. If the club survive today, relegation is guaranteed next season. Rovers look like their heading in the same direction has Coventry, and destined for Div 2 or beyond.Saxoman wrote:League one could be the remaking of us if forced to blood our highly talented academy products. That's my thinking anyway.
Honestly believe Rovers wil never see the EPL again in the next 30 years or beyond. The financial gap now is so great. Small clubs like Rovers, will never have the financial clout to bridge the gap.
We have hit the big time at the right time, and has long as we keep the structure has it is, we will be ok

I'm 29 years old and went to a school in a Blackburn catchment area. Apart from 2 buses from burnley everyone was a 'die hard' rovers fan. All my mates were. They had only known premier league football and success
Out of all of them only a hand full still bother going. The rest are the glory hunters who only care when things are good. I have no time for those fans. For the lads that still go and Ate truely die hard, I don't wish them good look but I respect them for being proper football fans

Re: When jack died..
Living in West Yorkshire (gods County) I see Leeds as the club I demise, having said that, I dislike any team who are bankrolled to have success.... Rovers when they bought the league, Leeds when they made the Champions League Semis, Pompey, QPR and more recently Chelski and Man City, all rich mens pay things, other than the last 2 who are still being bankrolled, it looks like a short lived success with normality resuming when the benefactor is no long around for whatever reason.
Rovers fans can blame the Venkys all they want but the reality is that Venkys are still throwing money into the bottom less pit named Blackburn Rovers. Will I tune in today... Yep, will I raise a glass if Brentford win....... Absolutely, mainly for the reason that I see another club finally sinking to it's natural level, the level they would and should have been for the last 30 years or so without the false economy of Walkers cash.
All the above is a reason why I wake today with a smile like a Cheshire Cat
, MY club, Burnley Football Club, the team I chose to follow 40 years ago, the team I've followed all over the country to places like Torquay, Telford, Stafford Rangers and the likes, watching us succeed the hard way, the HONEST way with no sugar daddy, rising up the leagues gradually stabalising our position before pushing on again, to find us now visiting the likes of Man Utd,
Arsenal and Saxo's team Liverpool, not as a one off, we've been there went down and come back stronger and done things the right way.
All these Rovers fans and pundits insinuating our board were taking the money and running 2 years ago, telling us that we needed to spend to stay in the prem...... well I have this to say "Fooook Off you know nothing" your comments of 2 years ago show everything that's wrong with Football nowadays.
We are the perfect model for other Football clubs without a sugar daddy to follow. Find your feet, stabalise your situation ON and OFF the field then push on.
Any football fan, even those down the M65 will have a grudging respect for the way we have gone about our business to be where we are today, and if they say they don't then they're either more BITTER than I give them credit for or they are simply lying.
So proud to be a Burnely fan today, and I will continue to be until my dying day whatever the future holds........ GREAT club, GREAT manager, GREAT squad, GREAT fans and being ran by a GREAT board of directors.............. It just doesn't get any better UTC!!!!!

Football is all about the here and now. And right now you're in League One with absentee owners and an unserviceable debt.Saxoman wrote:For now.

I wouldn't want to see them go out of business completely but would like to one day see this.
Hallmark Security League Premier Division
Blackburn Rovers v AFC Darwen
Probably the closest your going to get to a Premier league for quite some time.

Re: When jack died..
Saxo was on his way to his bank and suddenly collapsed whilst in the queue.
He soon came around, and said "Where am I?"
One of the staff handed him a glass of water and said "Its okay Mr Saxo, you are in the alliance"
"Oh my god" moaned Saxo "What happened to Leagues One and Two"
