Someone said something about a fat white bloke with a Sci fi obsession so I thought that was my queue to comment.

Just to prove my credentials, the only time I went to Glasto, I actually watched a Star Trek film on the open air cinema screen whilst I was there one evening.

I'm comfortable with musical judgements, kid. I can't control what anyone else chooses to post; I don't know dermotdermot and can't stop hm from quoting my posts.

Good question. What is up? Why is an old fogey clearly averse to contemporary hip-hop spending his Saturday evening bashing a hip-hop duo he would otherwise have never heard of before this thread mentioned that they were being introduced by Corbyn. Wait...Good grief, I smell a rat! Your judgement is based on the fact they are being introduced by Jeremy Corbyn! Corbyn could introduce the second coming of Christ on the Pyramid Stage and you'd object to Christ's accoutrements on the grounds of the identity of the master of ceremonies.

Morning Spiral, how are you. I'd turned in by the time you posted this last night but I'm glad you did as at least you've explained yourself.

So just to let you know, you're barking up the wrong tree.

I keep my finger reasonably on the pulse regarding music and reading through this thread, I have heard of most of the bands that people would see.

Run The Jewels were mentioned several times, followed up by a post saying they were being introduced in stage by one of the most famous people in the country at the moment (does it help if I don't name him or say what he does?) and a poster would lose a limb to watch them.

Yet I'd never heard of them, hence why I mentioned it.

Anyhow, having listened to them, I think they're shite and that has nothing to do with who is rumoured to be introducing them.

I hope that's cleared things up for you. If you want to squabble about politics, there's still plenty of threads on this board to do it on and plenty of posters who'll gladly engage with you.

I saw King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard on Wednesday at the Albert Hall in Manchester - absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend anyone who is going Glastonbury to check them out.

Tickets still available for Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, 9 November.

I still haven't seen them so there's not a chance I'm missing that.

Yep. I actually managed to pick one up yesterday. Couldn't book on the day of release, as I wasn't sure I'd be able to get the time off work. I was sure they'd have sold out within a few hours of being on sale, so I'm chuffed to have got one.

And you didn't have to sacrifice a limb. That must be doubly pleasing!

Unfortunately, without realising it wouldn't be necessary, I had already chopped off an arm in an effort to obtain a ticket.
