Fair enough . It wouldn't do if we all liked the same stuff so if you still like their later work happy days!

Radiohead were pants.
So bad I gave in and let the missus watch Love island.

I don't really "get" Radiohead either, but it was worth watching just for Street Spirit.

Watch out for Burnley lad and fan, Christian Madden, playing in Liam's band on keys.

Radiohead - I bet the Samaritans helpline was inundated during their set last night... Wilkinson Sword will have done good business too.

Yeah,,because all music should be happy party music and no other can ever be permitted or regarded as worthwhile. Lets all watch only Disney films and live off a diet of Candy floss whilst we're at it.
Radiohead polarise opinion and at times can seem in danger of disappearing up their own arty backsides but that set last night built into something very special for me. Brilliant band and a great two hours TV. Music is subjective of course but to come and say that was awful and trot out the old wrist-slitting lines is, well, pointless.

Soz for being a party-pooper and everything but it's a bit trite to say melancholic music makes you want to open your wrists. It's completely the opposite; listening to melancholic music during bouts of melancholy is cathartic. There's some sort of neuro-chemical redress going on there which can feel liberating for people. I'm not really a fan of Radiohead, tbh, but their composition arrangement and creativity is far beyond most mainstream guitar music.

I thought the Radiohead set was a really good balance between their old and new stuff.

I went to college with Christian; good lad. His band, The Earlies were excellent.
He's way too talented a musician to be playing keyboards for Liam Gallagher but work's work I guess.

Glastonbury; it's like the Emporers new clothes. It's nothing but an overpriced hipsters paradise and I'd rather lick p!ss off dogshit than have to watch it.

A true hipster wouldn't have anything to do with something as popular as Glastonbury.

haven't been since and not been remotely tempted.
Massive mistake there, Boatshed. The first Glastonbury Festival was a minor affair held in 1970. The Bath Festival was a totally different kettle of fish, with the 1970 show featuring perhaps the best festival line up ever. The acts included Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Santana, the Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna, Dr. John, Steppenwolf, Jonny Winter, Frank Zappa, the Byrds and Canned Heat amongst others. Phew!

Wouldnt mind seeing Liam in a small venue for the atmosphere and memories as long as he binned off all his rubbish new songs or kept them to a bare minimum for bar and bog breaks

I was rightfully called out for being a dickhead for (regretfully) politicising the other Glasto thread and as an act of repentance I'm gonna' ask you to not politicise this one, because RTJ's set was mint.

No. That was someone else.
Besides, 'threatened' isn't really the word. I can remember the thread, though; it was purely rhetorical. You seem quite hostile?...

I now feel like I need to apologise to people who genuinely might have thought I was prepared to cut off my arm or something to see my favourite rap group. I'm fine, everyone.

Some proper overreactions going on any time a band is mentioned in this thread.

I read somewhere that some psychologists believe musical taste to be an expression of ones perceived intellect (which fundamentally is a mating call-essentially a desire to get ones dick wet). I'm a c'est la vie kind of reprobate when it comes to musical taste and I'm not ashamed of admitting that I ****ing loved Major Lazer's set last night.
