Know nowt about him to say whether or not he would be a good fit and decent signing for us. He's the sort of age that I'd like us to be targeting though, potential profit should he do well (which should always be our model alongside a few wise heads).

Re: Florine Andone - £11.8m bid
Football is all about opinions! some people already writing this guy off as not good enough. I have lived in Spain for the last 13 years, currently in Duquesa I have watched a lot of La Liga / Segunda both live and on tv. I have seen this guy only a handful of times but have always been impressed by his attitude and effort on the pitch. He has played for 2 poor teams in fairness but has a decent scoring record. At Cordoba he had nearly a 1:2 ratio of goals despite being in a team full of loanees , albeit in the second tier a decent record. Deportivo were that convinced with him they paid their biggest transfer fee in years and he has done well. You don't win player of the month awards and score against the likes of Athletico and Real without being decent. That said it's a gamble but one in my opinion worth taking. He is the right age, has the physicality and attributes to succeed. Can he replace Gray's 9 goals? I think he can!

Never heard of him, but based purely on big league pedigree and the fact he is a different type of player I would be far happier with this than Chris Wood.

Re: Florin Andone - £11.8m bid
I'm not entirely sure about this one, haven't really seen him before. Judging purely on the basis of a players Youtube greatest hits is never a good idea. Definitely quick and tricky, but he appears to lack a solid physical presence (he gets jostled off the ball quite a bit, or maybe Vokes and Gray have set my expectations in that area to high). He also looks like he prefers to walk the ball up to the net, very few shots from distance of any note.
My main concern is that he appears to be a player that sets himself apart from the team. He is predominantly on his own, running about. Passing to his team mates, working with them to build up play, creating shared chances or putting another player in a better position on goal appear to be the last things on his mind. He seems to think that threading his way through numerous defenders is always a better option than simply passing the ball. And when he does pass the ball he sometimes lacks finesse.
It might just be me, but I also got the impression that he is more interested in celebrating his goals with the crowd and his manager/coaches than his team mates. Something of a tunnel vision striker and if we do sign him up I hope Sean is looking forward to being hugged. That could be ........ interesting
He reminds me of Gray in some ways (and in other ways he is different). He could be a good addition (if we are even interested in him) and in all fairness his team mates didn't look up too much (so he might have been better off going it alone). Then again, I've seen better players available in this transfer window that could be available for less money.
On the upside, if this isn't merely another gasseous link in the journalistic chain that was always going to follow on from the sale of Gray, we appear to be finally looking outside this country.

Re: Florin Andone - £11.8m bid
I don't really know the guy, you tube clips can be misleading.
La Liga has a lot more quality than the Championship, even if it's not as hard work.
For the money quoted, he excites me a lot more than Wood for 20 million.
Wood could only ever be a bit part player for us, unless God forbid, Sam had a serious injury, but this guy could play alongside Sam and complement him.
4-4-2 works much better if the 2 front men get to know each others game.

I'm sold on 4 5 1 build around our fantastic midfield a la Chelsea win
Re: Florin Andone - £11.8m bid
A lot of people experts on here as usual. I didn't know so many watched The Spanish league over here. Represents far far better value than Wood at £20m. We need to look abroad and I think I ll pay most notice to the guy that lives in Spain and sees more of the games at first hand.
