Shankly was ambitious, too, and he took a 2nd Division club and made them world beaters. The thought of moving never crossed his mind. One club man (in management, at least.)

That was 21 years ago. If Wenger goes they will replace him with another foreign manager. No disrespect to Sean but he'll never get a top club job in this age.
I personally think Dyche will be here for a very long time.

I hate the title of this thread as it's a loser's title. Why would he want to go anyway? His kudos for managing Burnley to 10th so far, is much higher than anything he would achieve at West ham or Palace and he's still very young in the job and he wants stability for his children.

He don't want to be Mourinho.

I don't want to be Moaninho, either. Even the thought is too depressing.

its not a losers title at all.
Simple facts of football unfortunately, players and managers move on.
Loyalty is not really a factor in football, there might be examples at Burnley, but I don't know the details.
Tom Heaton possibly recently, but I might be mistaken. The idea that he couldnt take a big club is wrong too, of course he could.
Dyche I mean.

Theres about three english managers in the top flight, you could go through most of them and i would doubt they'd succeed at the Turf.
Dyche has and is still doing a remarkable job here, top clubs owners are well aware of the limitations he has with us financially, they can easily recognise his talent. Hes got us promoted on a relative shoestring, that never goes unnoticed.
Longevity is still rare with managers. His desire to prove himself will ultimately be too much to resist.
He has no affinity personally with the town, no history here. He's from far afield. All his peer group are constantly on the move as well, he knows its part of the game. This era for Burnley is incredible, but it could collapse instantaneously without a similarly capable manager. I cannot think of anyone who could replicate his achievements.

He hasn't managed any players earning hundreds of thousands a week and I just don't see many, if any of the type of player in the traditional top 8 buying into his policies.

He is very much the right man for us and perhaps a few of the less fashionable clubs but I just can't picture Ozil, Hazard, Lukaku, Alli et al laying in a freezing cold river because they left a cup on the table.
