The first game of the Michael Holding season was Rishton v Ramsbottom. I was scoring for Rammy, we had tv cameras in the score box looking over our shoulders. Oh, and for the record. Rammy won. :D

Did you spot any of Margaret's famous scones?
No, they'd all gone!

Just watched this on catch up. Although I am not a cricket fan as such I enjoyed it immensely and as others have said, it warranted a longer programme. No mention/footage of Holding at Rishton amongst many more greats listed above.

Two links for me:
> Jimmy Eland and Val were my next door neighbours for around 12 years when I was teens through to early twenties. Or perhaps even longer. Not once did I know that he was an ex-Accrington cricketer (such was my devotion to filling the sport section of my mind with nothing but Burnley FC at the time!) Sorry to see him not looking so well.
> David Wells is the husband of my cousin Dorothy. Dorothy's dad Tom was a huge Rishton CC fan and loved all the attention Rishton got when Viv came to play

Some great footage of the East Lancs hills too :D
