Incidentally speaking of a Euro super league, it's been muted for a long time but if it does happen it will confirm that the fans no longer matter. It will either mean hardly any travelling support or severe financial pressure for the fans who can even remotely afford it. At the moment the odd CL match is within the means of some fans, especially the bigger games, but imagine if it was EVERY other week for 9 months? What a pity that all that seems to matter in football these days is money. Sky have a lot to answer for.

SKY have nothing to answer for, they provide a product, the paying public buys it. If you don't like it don't buy it.

Neither's Monaco in that sense, but it doesn't stop them playing in Europe. Europe is a continent, not a political body.

You completely missed the point there mate. I wasn't talking about Sky as a product or whether it is value for money (which I don't believe it is), I was talking about the way football is being slowly destroyed by the cash cow that IS Sky, they have hijacked the game and made it crazy with money out of all proportion to almost anything in what we call the real world. Any pretence, however vague, of equality in the game has long gone and even now there is talk of giving the bigger most wealthy clubs an even bigger slice of the already uneven pie. The game of football is now reflecting the world in general as the Tories would have it, let the rich get richer and more powerful and the Devil take the hindmost. For those who think what is happening to the game is a good thing think on this, in 10-15-20 years time, when there are only a very small handful of extremely wealthy professional clubs we will all be wondering why we let it happen. Don't forget if the cash cow completely takes over Burnley FC for absolutely certain won't be part of it.
