How do people have the ability to teach it at home if they don't know it themselves.

Surely if I sell something on credit to someone I'm pretty certain can't pay me back for it I'm soon going to go bust (aren't I?) I must be confident they can pay when I make the agreement or I'd be plain stupid and just shelling out teles and freezers and stuff and losing it. I'm not an economist or anything, but I do wonder what kind of company has a future deliberately selling credit to those who can't ever pay them back?

Many people pay the full amount on time 300% profit? Easy to see why this business plan works.
When has any form of exploitation failed?

You sell it on to someone else. The last financial crisis was basically caused by banks giving people loans they couldn't afford and then selling the bad debt to each other. Here though the interest is so huge that you can turn a profit on a fraction of the agreement term, so once the person stops paying it's not a problem.

They also re sell the items that people who could not afford to buy in the first place, return after failing to keep up with the payments.

They’ll be a number of people on this board that use these shops, they should know there are genuine ethical alternatives;
Furniture Matters within calico at the top of bus station.
SPE Furnishings on briercliffe Road selling furniture/electricals/paint.

Places like Open Door Colne, Emmaus House Burnley and then the likes Bristish Heart Foundation.
