Leicester tickets sold out
Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Unbelievable how fast they sold out! Sold out by 10am this morning! Fed up of trying to get tickets for games away! It is getting hard work now ! Just give us more seat and I am sure we can fill them !

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
This is very fcking annoying.
I’ve missed around 7 away games in 4 years, all with good excuses (weddings etc). Make that 8.
Really Mickey Mouse thinking to doubt we would sell 3000 tickets given the surrounding fixtures and the fact we have our best team in 40 years, 7th in the Prem.
We need all the away support we can get, even if it costs us £25k here and there. Our brand as a club is also hit if we are deemed to have poxy away support (which we don’t; it’s phenomenal by and large).

You’re agreeing, not disagreeing unless you are nit picking over 46. I said 2,000.Real ale 2 wrote:Sorry to disagree Clarettony...we had 2,046 fans last year for Leicester=

For what it’s worth I don’t agree at all if we’ve taken the minimum allocation. I think it shows disregard for our fans to be honest but probably because we were stung with Everton.

It also just really underestimates our away support.
The decision assumes it’s crap. But it’s not. It’s very good. 3 O clock Saturday games it’s always really solid.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Even with 700 tickets unsold at 30 quid a pop it's only about 20 grand. With the millions that we have rolling into the club every year is it really such a disaster if we have to pay out once or twice a season?

Of course it’s not jrg.
It’s really small beans. One extra decision driven by the extra support, that leads to a point could be worth £800k or what ever you get per place.
So many reasons to file this in the ‘dumb decision’ box.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
All day long the manager and players would want 3,000 fans at this game.
The club can financially stand a few grand loss in case we didn't sell them all as I'm sure other club's do with us?
But why do our PR dept insist on not telling us, the fans, what allocation we have taken for away fixtures?
Is it some kind of childish game amongst the staff who work there to keep it to themselves?
I wish somebody from the Club would answer that question.
But they won't.

The most infuriating thing is the clubs refusal to give a reason for their wall of silence around away allocations. If every other club in the country can do it what is our problem?

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
I think one of the problems could be some tickets going to foundation and such and therefore not under the control of the ticket office. They also have to put a set number of tickets, a figure agreed by the Premier League, to one side for players. If, closer to the game, those tickets aren't required then I presume they are made available for sale.Quickenthetempo wrote:One of the staff can't count properly as more tickets always seem to spring up.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Hi CT, how do these away tickets work?ClaretTony wrote:How on earth will there be pay on the day if we’ve sold out.
Home club has got a ground with a capacity of X (sometimes X is a big number, sometimes a lot smaller).
Home club's season tickets account for a proportion of 90% of X.
Home club has two categories of tickets to sell for each home game: (I) home fans and (ii) away fans.
Home club has got a number of non-ST fans. Home club knows if the number of non-ST fans is large or more limited - and can estimate the demand from non-ST fans for each fixture.
Home club wants to maximise ticket sales revenue.
HC has to offer up to 10% of X to away team.
Away team can take X(10%) or a smaller number, let's call this Y.
Does the HC decide that AC has to pay for all the tickets taken for AC fans - so HC is g'teed this revenue whether or not AC can sell or the tickets it takes - and this is the case whether the AC takes the smaller allocation, or only when they take the maximum allocation?
If the away fans have a disagreement with their club (not Burnley, but there are a number of other fans in this situation) are they costing their team money if they don't buy all the away allocation their club takes?
Are these ticket allocation and revenue rules Premier League rules, or do they also operate in Championship and other divisions in EFL?
When we had pay on the gate at Southampton - was this reducing the cost to Burnley or unsold away allocation? Or, did Southampton retain this revenue?
If Burnley are liable for the cost of away ticket allocation, what efforts do the club make to maximise these ticket sales - beyond publishing the fixture list and some great away results?

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
Too many questions in your post Paul but the basics are
Away club are offered 3k or 10% of the ground is smaller than 30k. I.e 1200 offered at Bournemouth with a 11k capacity.
For clubs that can segregate sections and sell tickets to home fans they can offer either 1.5k or similar, or the full allocation with the away club paying for any unsold tickets.
Leicester, Everton or Chelsea for instance could sell the seats for £45 instead of £30 capped away price.

People wanting Brighton tickets better be quick too as the person as the ticket office said we have taken the smallest amount we could. In my opinion a big mistake!

Without knowing just what allocation they have taken not sure how you can say it's a big mistake? If the allocation is around 1500, as we only took 1400+ to Southampton and the game is just over 1 week before Xmas, that's probably enough.1989_claret wrote:People wanting Brighton tickets better be quick too as the person as the ticket office said we have taken the smallest amount we could. Re: Leicester tickets sold out
That's part of the problem really, unless the club tell us what allocation they've taken we'll always be guessing. The decision not to take a full allocation for Leicester is obviously an awful one so being sceptical about the club doing exactly the same for the very next away game seems justifiable.Leisure wrote:Without knowing just what allocation they have taken not sure how you can say it's a big mistake? You can understand the clubs logic with the Brighton game, long trip and the week before Christmas, but the Leicester decision is absolutely bonkers, as is the North Korea style secrecy regarding away allocations.

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
It’s very simple if you take all the facts surrounding the Leicester game including its day Saturday it’s time 3pm it’s location compared to the away games either side of it, how we are performing in general especially away and finally whether it would really harm the clubs finances if 3 or 400 tickets that weren’t sold were covered by the club and finally if you cared if all the Burnley fans that wanted to go could then you’d take the full allocation.
Same criteria applied for Brighton you take the smaller allocation.
Or you could just shrowed it all in secrecy acting like you haven’t got two penny’s to rub together and p@ss everyone off... is Hoos back

Re: Leicester tickets sold out
I think that we should ask the people that actually run our away supporters groups, the likes of rossi and leisure, to ask the question to the club about how they decide on the take up of allocations and why they refuse to tell the FANS what they are.
