Re: January window
I doubt we will be looking to hard at the moment, wouldn't mind a CB as third choice as I think Tarks could easily be a target, I would love a pacy forward or winger who can score goals, just for something a bit different.
Re: January window
To provide competition:
Centre Back
Attacking midfielder
Winger
Is what I think we need without anymore departures. I’d like us to be looking at a striker but that would need someone to leave.

Re: January window
We definitely need cover at centre half a young up and coming championship centre half would be perfect. Has someone else as said, one of the big boys could possibly be sniffing around Tarks and offering him big bucks

you're missing the point.TVC15 wrote:Never mind our goal tally - our points tally is not in keeping with a team with one of the smallest budgets in the division.
And our goals conceded tally is certainly not in keeping for a defence that cost only £6m in total.

Enlighten me - what is your point ?Wile E Coyote wrote:you're missing the point.
Mine is that we are massively overachieving so it's unlikely that all aspects of our game would align to where we are in the table. With the way we set up as a team it's unlikely that we are going to score lots of goals in this league - have we ever scored many in this league under SD ?
There are in fact only 10 teams who have scored more than us...we are in 7th place in the league so not that unusual. Only 2 teams have conceded less.....that is unusual.
Re: January window
We’ve never really scored or conceded many under Dyche. The occasional 3 or 4 scored in the Championship and 3 or 4 conceded in be Prem, but nothing like the latter days of Ternent’s reign (thank God) when 5+ at either end seemed to be the norm!!

Are you the poster Mohamed in disguise?tim_noone wrote:A goalkeeper.

If I had to put money on it then I reckon we'll bring in a CH on loan who's decent enough.
I don't mind Gud and Arfield competing for the shirt but an eye opening winger with pace wouldn't be scoffed at.
A lot depends on how we are injury wise and who's available for 'sillyish' money rather than money that resembles a racket.
Re: January window
Would not be surprised if we saw no incomings in January.
I agree that we do still need a centre half though.
I'd also like more of a natural attacking / no 10 type player to play the role Jeff is being asked to play. Even if that is something a bit different to come off the bench. Maybe Wells is our plan b in terms of more pace.
In all other positions I think we now have 2 good options (at least). Especially with the likes of Deano and Walters to come back at some point.

Re: January window
We look like going into January in the strongest imaginable position to strengthen our squad. We should be taking the opportunity to bring in one or two quality additions - perhaps one starting signing (a pacier forward/wide player_, plus a bit of depth at centre half and possibly a longer term back up option for Pope if Heaton isn't going to be back imminently.
But as usual, we can expect cautious, careful recruitment with characters who can reliably fit into the structure of the team and the culture of the squad being the priority.

Re: January window
A high class centre forward would be good and much as I think hes improved I’d like a better faster trickier version of JBG
