Re: Martin O’Neill
But that is the only line to do with him in the article.
I'm not doubting that SD probably wants the job, but even if he does, the fact that Everton don't regard him as first, second, third, fourth or even fifth choice, and that he won't have the control he has here. Everton would have to made concessions to him to get him there I think, and that is not a given at clubs like that.

Re: Martin O’Neill
I don't think they'd make concessions for someone like Dyche. If they make an approach it seems likely he'll want to go (despite posters on this thread reckoning he's already turned them down, based on nothing) so the hope has to be that Everton don't make that approach.

Re: Martin O’Neill
I think if he does that (goes somewhere without some of the control he has here) then he'll struggle to create the sense of "one club, one team, one vision" that he's got here.
That doesn't mean he won't risk it, I think he'd probably think that he won't have this chance again, but its not without risks.
One thing I am sure about and that is if he'd been first choice, he'd have gone.

Re: Martin O’Neill
He wouldn't get 5 years to do it there either, but I suppose in his position you'd back yourself to be a success. The problem for him is if he's ambitious and wants to break into the top 6, Everton are one of few clubs who have the potential to do it, and I doubt any of the existing top 6 would offer him the job unless he got us into Europe or won a cup with us. Definitely agreed on your last point!

He has worked so long and hard to build "his" team. That's why he's not leaving.

Is he still alive? When did "Big Sam" become "Lard Arse Sam"?
