Re: Increasing Home support
Shouldn't be away fans in there anyway, it's time they were allocated a front lower section of the Longside. Don't see away fans in the Kop at Anfield, the tv cameras love beaming the support shown from there around the world. Let's give them something worth broadcasting from the Turf.

Re: Increasing Home support
I think I've said previously, don't think there can be any changes. We can't reduce the numbers available for away fans and, although I've not been in that stand since the split, I'm told it has to remain a permanent barrier between the two.Vince Fontaine wrote:A home sell out for Bournemouth and I would suspect a half empty away end. Surely this needs to be looked into for next season??

Although I agree with the sentiment, Vince, you need to give it a rest until the ground is redesigned on two sides, which might only be 2-3 years away.
I can’t see them being able to do anything on the current layout. I’ll guarantee that there is no way that the Longside Lower would be a viable option though; to remove a further 4,000 people via HPW instead of Belevedere Road is one issue, but another 2,000 possibly from the Cricket Field via he same exit is a no-no. Way too tight and busy! And the away fans in between two lots of home fans exiting...can you really see that?
Needs a redesign of the lot.
IF we were to go down then there is no need to do anything, but I reckon if we look like staying up again next season then the club will begin making sounds early in 2019 about plans.

I assume it cannot be split further due to having only one enterance and exit to the seating area. It’s already jam packed at half time/ full time getting into the concourse. Add another 500 plus burnley fans and it would be dangerous.
I think if we ever look to increase capacity we should do this in the BLS. The CFS is absolutely fine. I also don’t buy into this “improve facilities” line. One of the things I love about the CFS is it’s an old fashioned stand.

Re: Increasing Home support
I always thought let’s keep the CFS as it is, and I used to have a season ticket in there in the 4th division days, and loved it. I’ve been in there for a couple of games this season and it’s horrible underneath. Yeah it’s looks better than it did, but it’s too small for the crowd. You can’t get to the toilet or the refreshment kiosk anywhere near half time. It needs sorting. Nostalgia is great but the reality isn’t.Inchy wrote:I assume it cannot be split further due to having only one enterance and exit to the seating area. We need to spend some serious money on our ground. It’s long overdue.

Re: Increasing Home support
Don’t bank on a new stand sorting that out as the JHL Upper is pretty bad, a big upper tier with a small concourse and a smaller lower tier with a massive concourse, oh and a roof that doesn’t fit the standClaretforever wrote:I always thought let’s keep the CFS as it is, and I used to have a season ticket in there in the 4th division days, and loved it.
