I've always thought that the best way to avoid ones head getting kicked in in a bar where one knows there is a fair chance of getting ones head kicked in,is not go in at all.

I was in many pubs with boiled claret during the late eighties and can testify that once he put a pound in the jukebox he was usually left on his own within minutes.

Where's the fun in that?

When an 8ft (a slight exaggeration) Dutch man comes at you with a big chain and padlock, and you say, "f**king go on then swing it", and he doesn't swing it.

I call that a victory.

Lots of aggravation around a juke box back in the seventies and eighties I can testify to that. Usually over ten pence.Happy days!

Pub next to where I used to work in London had Pulse, live Pink Floyd double CD on. £1 for 3 plays - Shine on you crazy diamond and Comfortably Numb plus one other random song used to see me the best part of half an hour.

I'm a big fan of the minds, got most of their albums, but "Don't You".is not a track I would play on the jukebox. It wouldn't get in my fave 50 minds tracks.

Saw Big Country live at the Mechanics about 10 years ago.
They alternated singing duties..they were amazing even though sadly no Adamson.

Lots of cheating going on here! :D

Used to go in a pub (Can’t think which) where it was free pool and jukebox on a Monday night.

Don’t tell Dazzler he’ll select another 50 tunes.

Only chose don’t you as a general crowd pleaser. I love Simple Minds and still see them regularly and could also name several dozen minds songs I’d personally prefer, but it’s still a good un, particularly after a few in the ‘uptheclarets Arms’.

They were on come mincing (my wife watches it and I enjoy it for the erm fringe benefits) last year.

Only time I’ve seen an artist ruin their own song. Jim Kerr was drunk I think.
