mvg been dodgy in this match but looks like its going to be around a 104 average....Taylor used to do that...looked like he played rubbish and was nearly always north of a ton.

yep its been fine margins so far for mvg....ok, its what champions do, win close tussles but he could have 2 even tougher games to come....Cross will be a different player against him....he has gone to sleep when leading twice in last 2 games....can't see him doing that against tomorrow......if the real mvg turns up though there is only 1 winner.

Taylor is easily the most successful player ever, but he's a bad loser and often a bad winner. Hope Anderson beats him.

I suppose MvG v Taylor final would be the one that most people would like to see. I'd be hoping for an MvG victory if that were the case.

Taylor loves to be all playful on stage when he is winning.....he doesnt appreciate that from his opponent when he is losing though....great player but as a bloke a complete rsole....and if he name drops Ronnie o sullivan again, the remote is going through the telly.

The two that have eased through are Taylor and Lewis all tournament really.Think mvg and cross will be a fight, can see Taylor winning easily.Me and my dad picked two at the start Taylor at 12/1 and van den bergh at stupid prices e/w.Had a good run really.Just thing mvg will always find that next gear, but I like a bit of value if we have a bet.good luck to all off to Huddersfield today then the darts tonight happy days...

....
I think you are spot on Frank
not sure I could stand him as a sky pundit though....one of the most condescending d1cks ever.
you just know though that he will muscle in on the act and part/mardle and Harrington will have to watch their backs.

been a great punting tournament so far with plenty of mistakes made with players prices.
todays Semis with averages shown with first round shown first and below the betfair price.

TAYLOR 96..99..101..102...............JAMIE LEWIS 98....107....97....102
1.24
Taylor is doing his usual steady improvement through the tourny and is certainly the one to beat
but these prices are slightly insulting to Lewis who is 2nd only to mvg this week in the averages
his 140 witting has been superb and his consistency set after set.....I have laid Taylor at 1.23
and will try and take a decent profit if/when Lewis leads.....if Taylor wins the toss he is likely
to give Lewis the darts in order to break him when he is cold but Lewis has been a fast starter
this week and this could backfire.....Lewis has been exceptional with the doubles this week as
well and as said before he feels like this is a free stab.....all the pressure on Taylor....I favour
that Taylors experience and the crowd factor will see him over the line but this could be his
toughest game of the week so far and I am hopeful of more betting swings to profit from.

MVG 106...108...100..103..............Cross 104..103..100..97
1.24
MVG so far has beaten Cross every time on tv but on each occasion he was playing at the top
of his form...he isnt quite there so far this week...Cross has been starting his matches strongly
prior to falling asleep this week.....I didn't like the way he pulled his 3rd dart low yesterday
and he needs to sort that out but I expect him to throw his best today and this game will
be closer than the odds suggest unless the real MVG turns up....thats a big if...I have laid
the short odds for MVG and will take a profit if/when Cross leads.

only need 1 of the games to show a profit to make money, so short are the odds but I
wouldnt be surprised if both did
ps
I have noticed with MVG that after 20 legs in a match he often goes into overdrive
so watch for this tonight....that could be in 5th set if most sets go to 3-2....utc.

If Taylor becomes a pundit, the problem will be that he'll often try and make it about him.

Part, Mardle and Harrington don't do that, they make it about the players they're talking about. But I'm not sure Taylor would be able to talk about other players for too long without him being the focus.

Taylor is a pr**k. Heard him compare himself to Federer and Nadal the other day!! WHAT??? 2 finely tuned athletes who give everything for 5 + hours, then do it again 2 days later, against a fat bloke with no charm, who throws darts? Do me a favour! Fed and Nadal are always gracious in defeat too, proper sportsmen, not like that fat Kent!!

Got to remember that Taylor has a 8% stake in the PDC as well. Not sure what some of the other lads have, but he does have a vested interest in it's success beyond prize money.

I am not questioning Taylors mentality as a winner....when the chips are down there are few better in any sport at getting over the winning line.....the fact remains that winning world championship finals against the likes of Terry Jenkins....John Part...James Wade...Peter Manley....Barny etc does flatter him slightly.....the game now has at least a dozen players who would beat most of those players most of the time.....thats why I think MVG won't be able to dominate like Taylor did.....since the money has come along, many players are full time pro's and the overall standard has risen accordingly.

Taylor gave something away yesterday. He said that towards the end of match against Anderson his energy levels were low and he pushed himself on.

That should give Jamie Lewis the plan of making sure he sticks with Taylor. If it's 4-4, that's good, because he knows Taylor will begin to tire later on. Perhaps a bit of a mistake from Taylor, but that's what happens when you like to talk.

heard that frank but the thing is, I dont believe a word he says....call me a synic....I liken him to moanrhino....they both think they are clever at mind games but both are actually fairly thick....everyone has seen through the facade.....good start for Lewis,,,,Taylor straying into the 5 too much....Lewis's style really impressive.....filling the top of the bed, leaving a full treble bed to throw at.

I think the way he said it, he was saying how he felt. Not sure he's clever enough to pretend.

Good match so far... Taylor takes it to 1-1, but that could so easily have been 2-0 Lewis.

fine margins in play tonight....Lewis 3-1 down and missed at least 1 double to win every set....never any doubt about Taylors bottle but he is throwing slack darts and 3-1 extremely flattering.

Taylor wins 6-1, but was certainly not a 6-1 match. It could have easily been a 6-5.

Jamie Lewis comes across as a nice lad and think there's big things still to come from him.

We'll see more of Jamie Lewis but what about The Power he just does it when it has to be done. I was a bit pi***d off when the comp went none terrestrial but I'm listening on TS and it's been brilliant Barry Hearne was chatting to Ray Stubbs about stats, 132 countries live, on BBC America throughout the night all tickets gone in a day so glad about that Darts is Entertainmant.

LordBob, don't get me wrong, I clearly love the darts - but I've been to see the Premier League in Leeds and at the MEN in Manchester and for those who haven't been, stick to your tv. Unless you're on the tables, you're watching the darts on tv anyway and spend 20 minutes for every pint.

The atmosphere can be good, but that's not guaranteed, so if you like the darts spend your money on a Sky Sports subs instead.

Jamie Lewis played brilliant there considering the occasion n 6-1 scoreline was very harsh on him. Looking forward to seeing him play in 2018 n hope he continues with his progression from this tournemant. Up next is the very arrogant mvg! Lordbob get mobdro n watch skysports for free...

Lost me there Frank not sure which tables you mean and as for the pints I might have a couple every 20 weeks if I get the chance but I find the darts fascinating maybe because it's something I could never do.

When you go to the darts you normally have the stands or the tables - the tables are on the ground level nearer the board. I've not booked one but know people who have and say they have people come around and bring drinks to your table. If you're in the stands (in the tiers), they have televisions you can watch on, as the players are miles away.

It's similar to snooker. You get the better angles on the tv screen.

Cross polished that 161 off there...he is giving mvg all he can handle here....mvg needs one of his 3 set bursts but each set going 5 legs makes that a lot more difficult for him...good match

Cross is looking confident. If he loses he's had a great tournament. If MvG loses it's a disaster for him, so the pressure is all on the Dutchman.

MVG - Taylor final would be the worst for me, as I can't say I like either.

I'd probably miss the most of it. It needs something different like Cross to be in it.
