Yes, but that was played at Middlesbrough. The three games listed were the only occasions we've played at Darlington (Feethams).Dazzler wrote:1998 FA Cup 1st round L 3-2
Weren't we winning 2-0 ?
EDIT: Seen the other replies now.

Re: Who went to Darlington in the 80s?
This brings back memories. I was in the van a few cars behind the minibus. There was two vans behind us and we were together. We saw clarets in cars getting attacked and we were only too willing to help out our fellow fans.

I wouldn't try too hard - he was an imaginery fan who had his name read out at many away grounds in the early 80s.....usually in an appeal to meet someone after the game.ClaretAndJew wrote:Albert?

I remember the Albert thing, if you got the name called out ie can Peter met Albert near the turnstiles, or can Albert imaginary surname ring his wife etc.
How bad was the football when this was the highlight ?

I remember the match we parked behind a tranny Van full of clarets and they were all wasted so much so they left all the doors open. I would put money that one of the crew was the fella that ended up the floodlights

Remember it well. Seem to recall it being a bit tasty after the game. To be fair most games away in the 80s were.

I am trying to remember a new years day away game in the 80's at somewhere like Darlington. All I can remember is a lot of people went in fancy dress , open terracing behind the goals

80s was a bit early for me, but the only News years day away following in fancy dress I can remember was Chesterfield 91ish.
That was an open terrace behind the goal.

Does going to that game we played at Boro v Darlington in the 90s count?
If so, that was the closest I ever game to never going on again, both my little Burnley men in the back window got thrown out of the car on the A66 on the way home
