The thing that stood out for me from the o.p. was that Lowbank and his wife got through 4 bottles of wine between them. That's impressive.
Well to be fair like many clarets it’s hard to watch the footy totally sober, so it the Brighton game that Sat. So I had a glass before kick off, Mrs L is not going to let me drink and her not.
So I will have done 3/4 of a litre bottle before the end of the game, we bottle our home brew wine in litre bottles. So by bed time we will have done two each but that’s over several hours.

Just to let ppp know that unless he/she gets her meat from a butchers, then some of the pre cooked meat from M&S, Sainsburys and Tesco may well be from the same meat packaging company near Leeds that supplies some of Aldi's.

Just an update on the parking ticket.
I phoned the Aldi customer service line who raised a case the same day as I started this thread. I have just phoned them back and parking eye have just updated the case stating there was an issue with the camera and the parking ticket has been cancelled.
Hopefully that’s the end of the matter and have to give them credit for dealing with it fairly quickly.

Get it in writing if you can! These ba$tards are very very devious and have 6 years to do court, when all`s forgotten about.

Just received a similar one from Thornton In Cleveleys Aldi.

I actually shopped in Aldi that day and was only in the car park for 44 minutes but doubt I will have any receipts from the day now.

Am I best approaching the supermarket directly, writing back to the 'agency' ( ) or other...?

If you were only in the car park 44 minutes then what is the “fine” for?

That’s not a long time to do a shop, even in Aldi

I fought one off last year. Got all the court threats and solicitors letters and ignored the lot until court papers arrived
Think the claim was up to nearly £400

Submitted a massive 4 page defence and they caved in 2 days before the court date. They're just chancers and work on the basis that most people will pay up to avoid escalating costs and/or a court appearance

I laugh when I think how much it cost them to pursue it that far and that I offered them £10 to drop the case so I wouldn't have to mount a defence :D

They are Aldi car parks, though they are managed by a third party, they are still Aldi car parks and they, Aldi, are p1ssing on their own customers. I won't be going anywhere near an Aldi store until they issue a statement in the media saying this has been sorted.

It is indeed. 1st November. I actually remember exactly why I was there and what I did. Admittedly I didn't go in Aldi and do a big shop (even with their Usain Bolt like checkout girls it would be impossible).

I used to work for aldi, not the one in Burnley mind. If you go and speak to the manager and explain what happened he can pass it onto his area manager who can have it cancelled with one phone call. It’s really not a big problem for them to do. I worked all over the north west and got one for every store I visited. Mistakes happen, not everything is a scam.

cricketfieldclaret have read your posts and am not sure as you put
1st November. I actually remember exactly why I was there and what I did. Admittedly I didn't go in Aldi and do a big shop (even with their Usain Bolt like checkout girls it would be impossible). Did you not go in Aldi or only went in for a few things. If you went in did you pay cash or by card?. Have you spoken to there customer service department? If you do they are normally very good. If you do this and it does not work id be inclined to go to that Aldi with the ticket showing the times and explain you were only there for 44 mins and that you would like the manager to sort this out for you, and that you are prepared to wait for him to do so whilst you are there, take a chair and a book with you and sit down and read. (just don't park your car in the carpark)

By all means, phone Aldi. It can't do any harm.

But these companies are just out to glean as much money as they can from you and they don't care how they do it. If you visit their car park twice in one day the will have photos which are hours apart. This is called double-dipping.
Also ghost-ticketing. Google It!

That Facebook site is where you need to be. They will help you sort it.
Its a company car so the letters go there in the first instance. And I have a week to confirm whether I want to pay or contest. I have no alternative option. If I don't contest I also owe the leasing company a £20 admin fee for the privilege.

I always took the car as it limits my headaches. In theory :(

I went in briefly and bought something (chewing gum and water) but paid cash. I had been to the chippy round the corner for some dinner after a work meeting. Most expensive fish and chips ever

I’m still unsure as to what the invoice is for?

You say you were there 44mins but how long are you allowed to be there for?
Surely the limit isn’t 30mins. Like I said nobody could do a decent shop in that time, even with the speed the checkouts work

again why would anyone want to go to Aldi. i assume the time limit is 30 mins as its wall-to-wall with teenage Mums and screaming chavlings. after 30 mins youve had enough. go somewhere nice and treat the family.
