Yup, I think we mixed it up well 2nd half, first half a bit predictable, we definitely passed it more 2nd half and gave the opportunity to the wide players to go and create.

He's no Jean-Louis Valois.

I don't think many of us can be surprised, though. We knew what he was bringing to the side. A class act.

I think Lowts sparked us into life. Some great defending straight from the off, confident and assured that affected the rest.

Imagine saying to us 5 years ago that Aaron Lennon would be playing for us. You'd get laughed out of Burnley.

We saw today that Lennon is the next piece in the puzzle to improving our team.
As SD said earlier today: he's not looking for stop gaps but is gradually building this team into an (even more) quality unit.
Next season another backup CB, an extra CF and a quality nr. 10 please

How tall is Lennon? He looked tiny against the rest of the team .

How good was it in the second half to see us playing with 2 proper wingers. Lennon and Gudmunson were brilliant, once we started to get the ball off them.

I thought he was overwhelmed in the first half today, but he never gave up, worked his socks off, and was one of our best players in the second half.

Always thought he was good going forward, but he worked his socks off as well.
Impressed.

A player that will light up the Turf Moor wings, with Brady and JBG in the next few seasons. Great talent: exciting times

He combines pace with close control, something that Scotty never had. (Sorry Scotty).

He was good defensively when on the left, when he got the chance on the right he was superb going forward.
Lowts and Lennon could be special for us.

He had a good 2nd half linked up well with Lowton, they have the pace to compliment each other

Looked a bit betwixt and between to me in the first half - he didn't entirely seem to know his role defensively, and he struggled a bit to get into the game going forwards. But the switch to the right hand side after 10-15 minutes of the second half seemed to flick the switch for them and he was excellent afterwards, both defensively and going forwards. He not only showcased the pace and trickery we knew he had, but also showed he's got a better eye for a pass than I was perhaps expecting.
Perhaps it just took a bit of time for him to grown into the team shape and understand when he can expect to get the ball and where his teammates will be, but perhaps also he's just a lot more comfortable on the right, as some players are.

Let's not beat around the bush here peeps, he touched the ball twice in the first half, so not wanting to call him useless I'll describe him as being 'not much use'.
Low and behold, when he was switched to the position that has seen him win multiple caps for his country, he came alive.

His best position I think was always on the right, so perhaps SD took his time due to JBG playing there for so long.

What was really pleasing was to see him celebrate JBG's goal with real enthusiasm. He was the first to get to JBG and congratulate him, which shows that he has already bought into the 'team' mentality, grit, determination and will to win. Every credit to SD for picking the right character (again).

I bet JBG, as a left footer, was absolutely gutted to be switched to the left.
