It's looking almost certain to be Mark HughesUpTheBeehole wrote:Mark Hughes, despite being an ex-Southampton player, doesn't fit Southampton's strict recruitment bill.
Marco Silva does, but whether they can prise him away from taking the Benfica job is another matter.
Whoever they appoint, it probably won't be the obvious choice. Pochettino, Puel, Pellegrino were all from leftfield.

Re: Mauricio Pellegrino
Potentially on a hiding to nothing with those remaining fixtures.
Re: Mauricio Pellegrino
Doesn't that list of clubs say everything you need to know? Either newly promoted or small clubs appreciating who they have in charge and giving them a shot because they got them to the PL and know the clubs very well. Hughton, Howe, Rafa and Wagner are all good managers. It amazes me that clubs continue to employ the likes of Moyes, Hodgson, Pardew, Hughes, Lambert and co. when there are good young options out there. Rowett is proving his worth again with Derby. Surely it's time for more fresh blood in the PL rather than trotting out the same old dross!LeadBelly wrote:Yes- I think it's 9 since the start of the season. Maybe one (WBA) will go for a second time soon.
Hudders, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Brighton are the only ones in the bottom half that haven't. I cant see any of those 4 sacking their managers though.
