Are you basing this on a performance against the Arsenal youth team?
Managed a cracker last night amend m.o.m. performance.
Likes to admire his own work a bit too much - good as it is. Looked every inch a prem player. Strokes the ball with confidence and sees the passes others don't.
He had the raw ability to be world class. He has the mentality to do enough, so has not achieved his imate capability.
He's off to Scotland for a weekends golf with his pals. That says it all.

Was a good player for us with excellent potential. Battered a premier league side at 20 years old but was then mismanaged after a mistake at 21 years old. We all make mistakes. Both he and Laws made one in that scenario.
The club was in turmoil and it was all handled the wrong way. In a different team it wouldve been handled completely differently. Thankfully its worked out just fine for both in the long term. He could have done a lot more but hes done ok.
Was as talented a 19/20 year old midfielder ive seen for us thats for sure.

How old was Ings when we signed him?
Laws didn't make a mistake with him. McDonald made a mistake with Laws.

The point is he was a kid. If I think of some of the things I did at 27 never mind 21...

Howe didn't rate him much either.
Anyway... I wouldn't have him back, but there will always be strange folk who think he's a world beater.

He wasn't a kid though.
He was a young man, there's a difference.
It took a drop down the league's for him to settle down and grow up which he's just got on with and done much to his credit.
Yes we were in turmoil, but we also don't know what the other senior players did or didn't do to try and help McDonald.

Hopefully we'll get the chance to judge ourselves, because theres a good chance
he'll be displaying his talents on TM with Fulham next season. Two points ahead of Cardiff.
Though Colins men have two games in hand.
Hope Fulham come up, another London away weekend.

He was a young man living away from home in a highly pressurised environment. He got blamed and subbed in the sky game televised around the world where we were getting tubbed.
Of course he went to find his family who had left the ground at one of the lowest points of your career.

Yet I can't think of another young player who's done something similar since then, in a reasonable time before...
It was a crap game, I was there, but he had absolutely no right to disappear at half time.
Out of respect for his teammates he should've been there to support them, regardless of what issues he felt he had with Laws.
Also at the time of being subbed was he being blamed or withdrawn to prevent harm to his mentality?

played very well last night and scored with a decent shot that was helped by one of the worst goalkeeping displays I've ever seen. I would have expected a Sunday League keeper to save it

Judas promised him and his family that he would personally take care of him when he moved south of the border and then betrayed him (and us) by walking away from his obligations. There is no doubt that going to the 110 club was a poor decision but it is hardly the worst one that a young man has ever made. I'm glad he has managed to create a reasonable professional career for himself but it is not what it could have been and the way he was mismanaged by several of our managers (in different ways) led to a lot of potential being unfulfilled. I'll always remember that game against Arsenal with fondness though.
