We were at the opposite end. I'm sure that was the last time we played them when that was the away end.Loyalclaret wrote:That when Waddle booted the ball into towards the massive end as the teams came out and missed the stand?!?!
We were at the opposite end to where we are now I seem to remember- had to walk out down by some allotments?

Yes hate wasted journeys like that. Stood there and waited and waited in hope. Then the unfulfilled journey home.

Eeeeeeee, the Waddle season "shudder". I seem to think our first league goal scored was away to York. I'd traveled with a supporters group, got stuck in traffic so arrived late and so had missed us take the lead. We then went on to lose 3-1 if my memory serves me right. It really was grim times.

First went to Watford for the final away game of the 79-80 season - already relegated, Laws made his debut, 4-0 down at HT - but we travelling Clarets stood on the open terrace in the corner kept up a raucous rendition of "We Shall Overcome Some Day" throughout much of the game. I think we certainly have.
