Absolutely brilliant. My second team,I live in Acc (well Baxenden) and go on occasionally. marvellous news and a credit to the town. It's been said on this thread but I'm gonna second it:
Low budget.
Small crowds.
Great team spirit engendered by a manager who takes no nonsense.
Probably be favourites for relegation next season.
Yes folks they are the smaller version of the Clarets and it does my heart good to see the 'little guy' doing great things again.
Good things can be achieved without money and just sheer belief.
Once again congratulations to all at the club.

PS: I've said this in the past and I still think it: what about giving Coley a chance at the Turf as and when Dyche leaves? They are really cut from the same cloth and he might just be able to carry on the things that have been going on at the Turf.

No chance Rovers will fail to get automatic. Shrewsbury just haven't been good enough, or perhaps have the bottle, to keep going.

Coleman was successful at Accy first time round, then a disaster at Rochdale and then even more successful at Accy second time round. I'm told the big influence is John Doolan who came in as first team coach this season.

But we've played our part with loaning them Jimmy Dunne. He made two substitute appearances with both games won. He then got in the side and started the last 14 league games of the season. They've won twelve of them and drawn the other two. He played the first of them at full back but for the last 13 games he's been in the centre of defence and they've conceded just five goals.

For a club the size of Accy, this is an incredible achievement.

Great night at The Wham - we need a drum !

Post by LordBob » Wed Apr 18, 2018 10:54 am

What a great night last night at The Wham stadium it was a an enjoyable privilege to be there I'm glad so many turned up to see history being made, saw quite a few Clarets in the crowd and those Accy fans behind the goal were amazing never stopped singing all night and that's why I think a drum or two at the Turf would be a bonus. The drummers kept all their songs at the right tempo it sounded great they even did Apache by The Shadows, never heard that before at a football ground and when you looked at the young age of those brilliant fans I'd say the future looks bright for Accrington Stanley, tremendous, well done !

As long as Andy Holt pumps the cash in they'll do fine,as soon as it has to stand on its own they'll plummet its just basic facts. It's a good story and nothing else. 're the drums no nay never at Turf Moor.

Anyone banging a drum near me would soon discover a novel but uncomfortable method of making drumsticks disappear.

Losing Agogo to suspension then injury has ripped the heart out of Shrewsbury.

At least a drum at the Turf would slow the speed clappers down.

As an exiled Accringtonian am I the only one who opened up this thread fearing news of all-out warfare on Broadway, and a Yorkshire flag hanging from the Town Hall balcony???
