You're right. But...
The section of the left which gets serially offended, tend to do so by things that politically incorrect people say.
But I think your snowflake element of the right, or nationalists, don't tend to get so uppity about things people say, more actions. And not as often.
The most regularly 'offended' tend to be quite loud as well.

Being patriotic in England - it's a country that has provided us all with a hell of a lot more opportunity than say, 90% (if not more) of the world could.
That reason alone is why we should be slightly patriotic.
If not, then imo, it's a tad disrespectful to all of the greats that walked before us that made it the Country that it is.
Although, I think the national anthem should be changed, something more about the people & the nation, something that really ignites a fire in one's belly... Like the French national anthem does.

There's nothing wrong with being a bit patriotic, or even a lot patriotic. But that's your choice. If your patriotism makes you offended when someone else isn't respectful to the country you're patriotic about then you're a moron. Infact that's probably not patriotism anymore. It's probably nationalism.
It's like the religious whose religion makes them offended when someone else does something that is "against their religion". It's **** all to do with them, and Mourinho chewing gum has **** all to do with you, me, the OP or anyone else.

The word 'offended' wasn't mentioned until post 22 when IT brought it into this thread. I am not sure what his reason was. I am not offended by Mourinho chewing gum. I merely think it shows his ignorance and lack of respect when he does it during our (or anyone else's) national anthem.

Chewing gum is crap. It's like chewing a slightly minty piece of rubber for about 30 seconds, at which point it becomes like chewing a non-minty piece of rubber. Never understood the appeal.

Sean Dyche leads England to the 2026 World Cup final vs Portugal managed by Mourinho. Can you see SD chewing gum during either national anthem? No neither can I and that’s because it’s clear that he understands the importance of standards to the team and I suggest it’s highly likely that he applies similar standards to his life outside football. I wonder what others representing Man Utd yesterday made of it! As the manager representing Man Utd and leader of his players in front of a global audience, all JM had to do was stand in silence during the anthem and refrain from chewing gum for a few seconds. Too much to ask?

I wouldn't give a **** what anyone else does during any anthem. My patriotism is personal and i expect no one to alter their behaviour just to suit my personal beliefs. And anyone who does expect that is a moron.
