Yep. I was on about the Mane incident. Don’t think you can prove that he aimed to do Salah.dandeclaret wrote:Oh I think if you win in a poor manner, through deliberate cheating, injuring of players, diving etc, then you should be punished and I agree, it has to be worth something. If you're labelling that at Ramos last night then It's totally incomparable, except for the one where he went down holding his face - I'd have booked him for that - but there's nothing in the tangle with Salah though - just an accident.
PS - Ronaldo appears to have lost his pace doesn't he? Wonder if we've anybody on the message board these days who is quicker than him.

Can you confirm - did they also know that Ashley Barnes intentionally aimed to injure Matic in that challenge at Chelsea?

Nothing in Ramos' tangle with Salah at all. It's a physical game and, unfortunately for Salah, he fell awkwardly. Funny how much crying there's been about it.
He's an absolute shithouse but one of the best defenders of all time. His only blemish on another top performance last night was his cheating to try and get Mane done.

Re: Sergio Ramos
Cr4p. I was a total neutral and had no preference either way but Ramos’ tangle with Salah was an engineered way of ‘fixing’ Reals biggest threat. Just before they landed, Ramos twisted his body so that Salah was more underneath him so more of his body weight had an effect. It was blatant but he got away with it. The nearest sporting comparative event, IMO, was Schumacher ‘opening the door’ to Damon Hill and then ramming him during the overtake. The opportunity was there and both Ramos and Schumacher made the most of it for their benefit. This type of gamesmanship is why Real are the masters of the Champions League, they take no prisoners and are dirty cheating b4stards.

Fire in the belly, winner!
Of course, he could have allowed Salah to land on top of him and possibly risk injuring himself thus negating all those 'cheat' comments.

Ramos and Salah - it's all opinions, it looks crappy, but no one can say with 100% certainty that Ramos intentionally tried to injure Salah at that moment.
I wouldn't be surprised if he did, but equally I don't think he would try to cause serious harm.

The pictures posted prove absolutely nothing
To me Ramos very clearly pulled him to the floor and deliberately tried to hurt him.
His “Ronaldo” like look to the camera sums up Ramos.
You could give him the benefit of the doubt that it was an accident based on his character or previous record - but that’s a little difficult for someone who has 392 red cards to his name !!
Ramos is a great centre back no doubt - but he is also one of the biggest cheating tw-ats to ever step on to a football pitch.

They both locked arms and then Ramos pulled Salah to the floor deliberately was the way I saw it. Don’t think anyone is really saying he was trying to dislocate his shoulder but he was trying to hurt him so that was always a possibility.quoonbeatz wrote:It really isn't. Re: Sergio Ramos
In my opinion Maldini was a much better player than Ramos and a unquestionably a far better person.
Then again Maldini was a far better player than most defenders in the history of the game.
What you can’t deny about Ramos is his will to win and to be fair he has been pretty successful at it. As much as a lot of fans hate him most of them would be cheering him or his like if they played for their team - “he might be a cheating tw-at but he’s our cheating .....”

The thing is I really do think that Salah brought it on himself by linking arms.
Shame because besides anything else the incident ruined what may have been a good game.
I can't be bothered with all this vilifying of Ramos, I doubt he's any more "evil" than most professional footballers really.

Maldini was imo one of the best left backs there's ever been. He moved central later in his career but left back was always his best position. Ramos is best centrally. I think comparing Ramos with Cannavaro would make more sense - deffo Cannavaro!

Re: Sergio Ramos
He's a serial winner, nothing more and nothing less.
If he has committed a 'foul' it's up to the referee to punish him.
As for saying that you'd prefer to lose like Karius than win like Ramos, well that says it all, it's not a Sunday league game that's basically a bit of fun, it's the effing UCL final!
Win at all costs. That's professional sport.
