With so much interest for the away game at Aberdeen and probably not enough tickets to satisfy demand, has there been any hint at all that the game might be shown on a big screen at Turf Moor?

Wasn't there supposed to be full details for supporters, according to the post they put up on Friday, "early next week"? Still no sign... I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to know exactly what's what?!

Re: Kick off times and prices confirmed for Aberdeen games
To be fair we only qualified for Europe about 8 weeks ago, so the club haven't had long to come up with a ticketing strategy! Joking aside I've heard a rumour that they're still planning on having a ticket collection system, so no using other people's Clarets numbers.whentheballmoves wrote:Wasn't there supposed to be full details for supporters, according to the post they put up on Friday, "early next week"? A lot higher than 5k points to start off with. I.D to collect, no supporters club tickets handed out.

How would collecting tickets work for those out of town? Surely not.

Maybe they will say it’s UEFA’s rules....which it does not seem to be.
This condition is not being plucked out of the air by posters. Personally think it’s rubbish and unfair if they enforce it.

You'd think not wouldn't you. Especially for any later rounds where time would be tighter. Collection in Aberdeen on the day would make most sense.bfcfan1882 wrote:How would collecting tickets work for those out of town? Surely not.
Re: Kick off times and prices confirmed for Aberdeen games
If they are going down the collection route the only logical place for picking up is Aberdeen on the Wednesday/Thursday.

You have to buy your ticket but no postal option with every lucky applicant needing to pick his ticket up from the Turf with photo ID..Lancasterclaret wrote:You think we'll have ID checks at the turnstiles?

Re: Kick off times and prices confirmed for Aberdeen games
Why would they do that for this one?
If you don't live in Burnley, then you won't get a ticket under that scheme.
Which as you already know, will affect hundreds of fans with well over the required points.
I'm waiting to see what the requirements are. The only fair way is on points, otherwise what is the point of having them?

So... I was right.

Surely the club aren't going to cash in by offering guaranteed tickets if you buy an extortiniate "supporters package"?

The club mentions supporter travel packages on the link. Every club have these in Europe.
Re: Kick off times and prices confirmed for Aberdeen games
In theory it is fair but the ID for collection in Burnley is completely vpointless because tickets can still be passed on.Lancasterclaret wrote:Which is how its supposed to work.

They'll base it on the same method as the Arsenal game. Demand will be the same.Quickenthetempo wrote:A lot higher than 5k points to start off with. I.D to collect, no supporters club tickets handed out.

When we played Man U. on Boxing day those tickets sold out online within a couple of hours so I can't see the strategy being anything different.

Expected to start at 9k points.
Re: Kick off times and prices confirmed for Aberdeen games
I agree for the more far flung destinations there a decent idea, but hardly necessary for a game in Scotland I would have though? Unless the club are trying to cash in.Quickenthetempo wrote:https://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/new ... v-burnley/

or people that buy 5 tickets at a time, and go home and away when we can, and end up sending more money than a season ticket holderSteve1956 wrote:Season ticket holders should get into these games for free,a reward for our support.

Considering season tickets count for the vast majority I can't see many fans having that many points, even if you've gone to every away game.Quickenthetempo wrote:No issue with loyalty points it's other stuff. I'm sure it will all come out though.

People are going to be annoyed at this whatever happens.
If I get a ticket, great, if I don't then, I'll be a bit peeved but such is life.

Whatever points the top band have (amount of tickets so say 1800) will decide what they set it at.

I'm hopeful but not sure we'll get tickets. I'm fearful the club will frustrate our ability to get our hands on them.
Re: Kick off times and prices confirmed for Aberdeen games
Interestingly I only go to about 4 or 5 away games yet I'm also just under 8000 points, but like you, have had season ticket since the points scheme started so there doesn't seem to be many points given out when buying away tickets, if these points are anything to go by.claret wizard wrote:I've had a season ticket for every season of the scheme and go to about half of the away games.
