Re: Clarets Foundation
I don't know the exact wording was supporters travel packages in the first press release about Aberdeen.
It was Thomas Cook sport who said they were doing it.
Might of been cancelled as it's been left late. Unless they wait until all tickets are sold to increase the value of the product they're selling.

Sorry, thought you meant the one the club referred to in the initial release - that was the corporate one. Don't know about packages from other companies.Quickenthetempo wrote:I don't know the exact wording was supporters travel packages in the first press release about Aberdeen.

Re: Clarets Foundation
There may be no breach of contract issue.
However, there is definitely an issue with false advertising.
The advertising standards authority CAP code states in section 3.1 that marketing communications must not materially mislead or likely to do so.
Section 3.3 states marketing communications must not mislead the consumer by omitting material information (info that consumer needs to make an informed decision in relation to the product).
Section 3.28.1 states that if estimated demand exceeds supply marketing comms must make clear that stock is limited.
Section 3.28.3 states that marketing comms must not mislead consumers by omitting restrictions on the availability of products.
I joined the foundation for access to tickets when I moved south 20 years ago and this is still advertised now.

Re: Clarets Foundation
If anyone gets access to tickets via an expensive package deal then the club have shafted potentially 400+ of us trying to earn a quick buck.

The club will say they're working with a partner to help fans get easy travel to European games.Eyres_11 wrote:If anyone gets access to tickets via an expensive package deal then the club have shafted potentially 400+ of us trying to earn a quick buck.
Just to clarify I'm only working on bits of info here and there. It might not be fully accurate.

Re: Clarets Foundation
Complaint made to Advertising Standards Authority re CAP code failings along with a complaint to the club supporter liaison officer.
Let’s see what happens next. The prediction is diddly squat but it always feels better to have pi55ed in the wind than needed to go and not be able....

Re: Clarets Foundation
Hopefully nothing will happen. Being a foundation member should (advertising aside) come after loyalty points in term of ticket allocation, just because FM pay £100 a year (in some places compared to £300/400 ST) shouldnt entitle them to a ticket.Hibsclaret wrote:Complaint made to Advertising Standards Authority re CAP code failings along with a complaint to the club supporter liaison officer.

Re: Clarets Foundation
Pretty irrelevant tbh. If you pay for a service you expect to get it.
You can state that a FM should come after loyalty points etc. The issue is that the club does not even mention FM in respect of tickets for the Europe tie. Basically, they know they have sold and continue to sell a dud.....
It was fine paying 100 quid to guarantee a ticket 20 years ago in the 3rd tier.....however, the club has just basically chosen to ignore this and take the money. The arguments about who should get tickets is irrelevant

Tickets have never been guaranteed. The Foundation have always had a limited amount of tickets available on a first come first served basis.Hibsclaret wrote: It was fine paying 100 quid to guarantee a ticket 20 years ago in the 3rd tier.....however, the club has just basically chosen to ignore this and take the money.

Re: Clarets Foundation
I suggest you read the BFC website:
Enjoy exclusive, guaranteed benefits.
Your membership includes the following guaranteed benefits:
Priority match ticket ordering service
They have always said this. Again whether they have always had a limited amount of tickets is irrelevant.

Re: Clarets Foundation
"Priority" was guaranteed. While that was never defined, clearly not offering any through the Foundation doesn't in any way represent "priority". The club, who might well plead that's just the way football is in 2018, has made us customers as much as (or more than) fans. So the relationship changes.Leisure wrote:Tickets have never been guaranteed. The Foundation have always had a limited amount of tickets available on a first come first served basis.
Re: Clarets Foundation
What about season ticket holders who pay £460 + £100 to foundation? They might not quite have enough loyalty points but for convenience sake used the foundation for away games when in the championship or for Hull / Boro on the PL . I've failed twice to get man u tickets and Huddersfield last season through the foundation. I'd hazard a guess there's plenty who got tickets for those games who aren't season ticket holders or foundation members.Eyres_11 wrote:Hopefully nothing will happen. Re: Clarets Foundation
Apologies, maybe I wasn't clear. What I meant was that there has never been a guarantee from the Foundation that all members who requested tickets for any game would get them. As far as I'm aware it has never been stated just how many tickets they have available for any given game. So on the 1st come 1st served basis some members have missed out and been disappointed probably every game.thatdberight wrote:"Priority" was guaranteed. Have been a Season Ticket Holder + Foundation member for years. Suffered the same fate as NL Claret above last season having not had a problem previously.

Re: Clarets Foundation
I'm the same, season ticket holder and foundation member........ last few seasons have been a nightmare to get through on the phone for tickets. Was there not supposed to be a limit on the number of members?Greeny wrote:Have been a Season Ticket Holder + Foundation member for years. With our recent success, I bet the foundation has taken on loads and loads of new members, no priority for us that have been members since it started but the more folk in it the less likely to get a ticket.
And now, no chance at all as the club in their wisdom have decided to change the rules

Re: Clarets Foundation
It can't be guaranteed even if the club wanted it to be seeing as the away club give us a limited amount of tickets.
Re: Clarets Foundation
I think in a nutshell if you are not in the chosen few of foundation members and only subscribe for away tickets you are probably wasting your money nowadays.
Put £2 on the national lottery instead.
I still use the bar on matchdays for convenience to meet mates however if there was a better alternative I'd cancel me subs.

Re: Clarets Foundation
That's not the bone of contention though. One ticket per member was never guaranteed, that wouldn't be workable and nobody expects it.Quickenthetempo wrote:It can't be guaranteed even if the club wanted it to be seeing as the away club give us a limited amount of tickets.
But the opportunity to buy one of a small finite number of tickets, i.e the priority ordering system, is guaranteed. Or at least it was.
If that small chance is not guaranteed then they shouldn't be advertising it as such
